Steve Jobs – The Lost Interview

The interview is wide ranging across a variety of subjects like the famous Blue Box that Steve Wozniak and Jobs built early in their careers, the future of the personal computer and Jobs’ visions for his company NeXT, which he was running at the time.

He's right about spreading around nicer things, if it weren't for Apple Microsoft would never have strived to improve beyond Windows Vista, which led them to Windows 7 & 8. Most PC companies would still be selling huge brick plastic computers, but now they are adapting and becoming nicer... competition is a good thing.

    Without iPhone
    cellphone
Well, do you remember your phone before iPhone? It encourages cell phone companies to create better smart phones.

Apple not only made lives better for Apple users, they encouraged all these other companies to make better products that makes everyone's lives better.

Microsoft is mostly a software company, within Window's circle of influence there are dozens of hardware companies competing with each other for a bigger slice of the Windows market share. Sony was making some pretty neat stuff before the Apple craze really got started. But yeah it's nice to have a face to a large company like Apple.

Microsoft only cares about software... they don't care about competing with a certain
    ipad
    really. :P

It's heartbreaking, but Windows can never be cool no matter what.

It's true, cost is the biggest factor that keeps people from Apple products, I love Apple but I can't afford $80 a month on a cell phone... well I can but that's expensive, so I pay instead for a $35/mo Android phone.

Chris, i think they just call that smart. When in life we can afford all the bells and whistles we buy them.....
There was a point when i didn't even have a cell phone when everyone did.

"the graphic is in error, as Samsung only mentioned plans for the new phone in 2006. It wasn't actually shown until February 2007 at the 3GSM World Congress, held a month after the iPhone's debut. It did not go on sale at that time. "

Regardless, my main point is that Apple encouraged competition to improve their own devices... Samsung is not influencing this kind of change while almost immediately all cell phone companies knew they had to update their smart phone designs after the phenomenal success of Apple's iPhone... and as a result I have a very nice Android smart phone.

    Sensationalism made Steve Jobs famous.

People jumped all over the iPad as revolutionary, but Bill Gates was the first to create a tablet many years before.

Without Bill Gates, some of the others on this list wouldn't have had the tech to "borrow" and create "revolutionary" tech of their own.

And without his father, the CIA, and the elitist establishment behind Gates, he himself would surely not have accomplished the level of his business successes. As far as technology as a whole, we'd have nothing without Tesla.

Steve jobs? No he was not my type, but i did buy my first apple ppc from him in the early 1990's and never looked back nor has the amount of money sucked from my bank account.
No job? Isn't that the point of life?
Glad i work for myself and guide my own destiny. Want to join me on linkedin? Maybe we can barter? It's okay that you are a Republican, I still have superficial respect for you. If you can take me for everything i bring to the table at poker, i may respect you more but you are buying dinner and my hotel room if i lose.

I wouldn't go there myself, iPhones and iPods are good, Macs are good for editing and design, and Apple TV's are okay... But they're all basically designed to be as flashy as possible... Windows or Linux are better for most other things though.

You know, i have so many old apples, can i use one of them for Linux? Do i need a win-blows machine to run it? Can i just reformat an old apple hard-drive to run Linux?

I take it from your comment you don't deal with graphic design. It's hard, because we don't want to think allot about how we get the product out in the end, and windows seems to have allot of hoops to jump through to get the finished product done and done as a pro.

When i get on a PC, i feel as if all the creative life force has been sucked from my bones. Am I a delusional Apple cult fanatic?
    -Please help

I'm just saying, I hate using macs for anything other than Editing, most things don't work particularly well on them, and they're so damned fiddly and rigid, on Linux and Windows you can make it more user friendly, but Apple's just stuck... Same with iPhones and Androids, I have both, and whilst I prefer the iPhone, it's so unchangeable compared to the android... But I think you could reformat an apple computer, maybe replace a few parts to download Linux onto it...

So the internet runs faster on a windows? I do know apple has allot of built in filters that cut off java script and auto block malware sites.... is that what you mean?
  • Anonymo... Buoyant... 2012/07/04 22:38:37
    Anonymouse BN-0 ~bibbityboo~
Not necessarily faster, but I've found on Macs, often sites, like Facebook, don't load properly and they don't like downloads and they have problems with videos and PDF files, because of JavaScript filters and Apple's little feud with Adobe... The Internet does run faster on Google Chrome though, I don't know if
You can download external browsers on Macs...

Safari has turned into a real stinker let me tell you! So i have been using chrome. I like it but i don't much care for the contextual menu as an only way of access to features. I have all the browsers...Firefox, Camino, bla bla bla.... I live in LA, i wish i knew a windows person in LA that could take me through it in person, it sucks. I have even been wanting to buy a WIN-BLOWS.... but all my apple friends GASPED!

Windows 7 isn't all that bad, really, but I would still go with Linux. Windows is prone to viruses, and as long as you don't want to play video games Linux is better. Of course, for any designing or editing, Macs are best, but then, you already knew that.

Wow Anonymouse, I just took a sneak peak at your profile. 16? I am very impressed! You really sound like a bright kid. Back in the 90's when you where suckling on a baby bottle i was very involved in hacking. Back then, it was cool. We never tried to hurt any company or anybody, but did feel the need to exploit those vulnerabilities and expose them to our corporate victims.
I would love to build my own PC, especially because I view it as a throw away device. Maybe that is the wrong attitude to take. Maybe i should give the Windows OS and it's hardware more credit.

I'm a teenager, we're all computer buffs, because we've grown up using them. Hacking to show flaws in programming isn't a bad thing particularly, especially in Facebook, where the flaws are rampant. Some of my friends build PC's, they're not at all difficult to do, the circuitboards tell you where everything needs to go. It's just finding all the parts, especially if you want to build a good one, good graphics cards for instance can be difficult to locate... Windows is good for using computers in general, and downloading things, but not so good for specialised procedures.

what technology is apple even developing and/or integrating, hell they don't even make their own computers anymore it's just re-branded intel now. at least Google is constantly developing API's, hell most they just make and don't really inform people.

Weren't they the first to market tablets? And what about iphones? And the software that Apple has designed is far more user friendly than any PC based system.
But admittedly, I don't know much about technology - so please don't feel the need to crush me with your superior knowledge or try to entice me into a "debate". I already concede to the distinct possibility that you know far more about this stuff than I ever will - congrats.

Definitely. Haven't you noticed how silent Apple has been since Jobs went to join the software in the sky? They've lost all their ingenuity and imagination, Jobs was their driving force, now all they can do is steal other companies' processors for better speed and put more cameras on their iPads... They'll basically be putting the same things out there, they won't make anything new now...
