In a video posted on Facebook this past Sunday, a St. Louis woman is seen yelling at children and instigating violence, saying things like, “Got some action! Got some action! Y’all better ball up some fists!” A source who knows the woman who posted the video told St. Louis TV station KTVI that the mother needed to be stopped. Do you think social services should get involved?

HUFFINGTONPOST.COM reports:
Child welfare officials may soon investigate a St. Louis woman because of a video where she instigates a fistfight between two diaper-clad kids.

These children are still in diapers. This woman needs to be checked out by social services. The "source" who knows the woman may know other things she is doing that is harmful to those children.

That's disturbing on so many levels. Leave the planned fighting to the overweight men in tights, please, and let kids be KIDS.

They ARE being kids. That's what kids do, wrestle, fight, goof around. The more you try to stop it, the worse it gets. Stop playing police and let them work it out themselves so they actually LEARN something from it. The way people like you are so afraid of letting people live their lives is why our society is turning to crap.

Children should learn to be social first. They are too young to work anything out from fighting. One will always be stronger and hurt the other. All they learn from fighting is "might makes right" and bullying pays, before they even learn to share and say thank you and please. They'll then grow up and wonder why other kids don't like them.

they should but they won't, remember when nobama ran for office the first thing he did was to tell his DOJ don't file or follow charges against blacks. Why ? I guess it's because they are his base.............

While I believe that some parents are complete idiots, I disapprove of 'social services' as it is an Unconstitutional 'agency' that makes up its own rules and takes other peoples children based on less than all the facts.
We had 'social services' sent to our home in retaliation for not allowing a threatening grandparent to visit with our children. NOTHING was done to the grandparent for this! I expected JAIL time for the grandparent, but was told that people who call in complaints on others were 'protected'.
I'm sick and tired of those who believe that they should approve of how other people raise their children. People who don't have children should be PROHIBITED from employment in ANY child welfare program as they have NO...NO....and I mean NO clue about raising children.
Social services is just another socialist program.

So, if a parent wants to beat their children and tie them to trees in the heat for hours (a true story) as punishment we should all stand by and watch? Do children not deserve protection from their caregivers?

We have all witnessed the failures of the system, but who are you or I to completely disregard the benefits.
  • stephan... Bibliop... 2012/07/08 02:56:45

really? Have you ever had child services called to your house because you were sitting under a tree in your private, safe, fenced in backyard but some nosey busybody couldn't see you sitting there WATCHING YOUR OWN CHILDREN and called to report neglect? Did you have to then subject your child to terrifying interviews for which you could not be present, produce medical records for yourself, children & your pets and wait for them to send you a letter to tell you that they've decided everything was fine? The house is very clean, quiet suburban neighborhood, intelligent college-educated parents, kitchen full of healthy food, clean water, electricity, plumbing, etc. all working, beds for each child with clean linens, children clean, well fed, healthy, dressed like children playing tea-party in their own backyard but this family is targeted and can't even face their accuser because the accusers are protected (the law doesn't apply to social services). Yet, a few miles away, you see children in diapers wandering around the neighborhood, bug bites all over, filthy clothes, mother texting on her cell-phone having no idea where here 2 year old is and nobody cares. Too much power given when you allow the public to make anonymous complaints. And don't be ridiculous, noone is saying that they would sit around watching someone be beaten and tied to a tree. They're saying allowing your kids to wrestle & play is NOT abuse or neglect. Bleeding hearts....make me puke.

Well, people are the problem with the system. Some people are busybodies who will report a parent for having a different parenting style, and others will report those who are truly abusive. I saw a woman lightly slapping her child with a flipflop in order to make him quiet. I didn't like it, but then again did I call CPS? no!

If you have done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear. As for the nosy neighbor, you do know how to call the police and report her/him for harassment and being a peeping tom do you not?

Sorry sister, it doesn't work that way with CPS. Like many other "I'm from the goverment and I'm here to help" agencies, you are considered guilty until you can PROVE your innocence.
  • nancyisnow Jensenmk 2012/07/10 00:39:26

Child Protection Agency could be run more humanely, but still, if you've done nothing wrong, there is nothing to fear, and a lot to fear for children if the agency weren't there. I've had CPA call on me by my ex because he didn't want to pay child support. It was scary, but worked out well, and I would NEVER be so irresponsible as to say that the government shouldn't get involved.

I've exeperienced that several times myself. Yes, I had nothing to fear, and yes I had to defend myself and prove my innocence. YMMV

  • Andrea Jensenmk 2012/07/26 17:49:35

The state has money honey and if the lawyer thinks you have a case, they take it on the assumption they will get paid when they get you the big bucks. Don't roll over and play dead then cry because someone stepped on you.
  • Jensenmk Andrea 2012/07/26 18:32:42
    Jensenmk
Big bucks from where? Sue? There's too much of that crap going on already, I won't be part of the problem. Besides, I'm an employed (military) white male (four strikes), I'm not entitled to all the handouts some others are, nor would I take them anyway.

I'm not crying, just pointing out some ugly facts. The truth is some people (and some goverment agencies) act poorly with the power they possess; CPS sometimes displays that.

  • Jensenmk Andrea 2012/07/27 10:44:44

Agreed, I didn't. The fact is that is how CPS sometimes operates: an accusation (often anonymous), an 'investigation' (often with children automatically removed from the household), miscellaneous bureaucracy, and then a decision (never an apology or repercussions for a false accusation).
  • Andrea Jensenmk 2012/07/25 01:14:56
    Andrea
That is what a lawyer is for my friend. Even CPS has to follow the law.
  • Jensenmk Andrea 2012/07/26 10:10:04

You would think so, wouldn't you. However, there is significant bias and discrimination when it comes to child custody and support (as a military male who was awarded custody and support on multiple occasions).

I have birthed and raised two daughters, and what that mother did is NOT just her business. She actively encouraged one child to harm another. She is a horrible mother and needs to have her own ass kicked. It is one thing to teach your child to fight back, but to coach a boxing match between two toddlers? Hell no.
  • Jensenmk Andrea 2012/07/09 08:04:23

I've have eight kids and sometimes you need to let them settle their differences in their own way, just so they understand that all methods do not work as well as others.

There's nothing unconstitutional about protecting children from abuse. And if you call it socialist, so is the police and military, and we need all of them, and need government to run them, not a for-profit agency.

If the woman was seen encouraging violence between two children and one of them did get hurt then social service should look into the matter and see if there are other occurrences similar to this
