Ilike the eggs benedict with soinach, for breakfast, served at the local restaurant! But, I know of at least 1 time they ran out of spinach. seems a lot of people like that combo!
Right. If the seller says he washed it, that means he sprayed water on it. I usually wash spinach several times. I fill up the sink with water, dump in the spinach, wash it, drain, repeat, repeat. The washing will remove the sandy grit. When I wash it I strip the stems out; I prefer to eat just the leaves.
I don't like it creamed. In fact, I don't like it over-cooked at all.
It's my favorite green. I love it cooked or raw. I especialy love to make a spinach salad, with fetta cheese, and top it off with extra virgin olive oil.Or have my hubby make a spinach omelet.
Lucky you! I used to eat salad and vegetables all the time, but just somehow drifted away from greens. The only greens I get now are lettuce on sandwiches. Sandwiches made on white bread!
I love collards. I love turnip greens as does my tortoise.
I love calabash. I love saurkraut with turkey, crabs from the Chesapeake(steamed or caked), all of it.
Half of my family comes from Greenvill SC. I moved south to Florida (not the real south). I'm moving to SC soon. I love the south. Wouldn't ever want to live above the MD line again.
but only raw spinach (unless it's cooked in quiche).
I use 1/2 spinach and 1/2 lettuce in salad a lot to increase the nutritional value. I also like to pile the leaves on sandwiches & in wraps too.
Didn't like it as a kid but i do now.
Same here... it was "common knowledge" that kids thought spinach was nasty stuff, but I remember in the grade school cafeteria, everybody ate it up-- with vinegar. :O)
I was the same! Instead of dessert, I wanted more veg. All vegetables except beets, brussels sprouts (I like them now) and sweet potatoes. I wish I hadn't morphed into such a non veg eater, but what can one do.

only in the spinach dips =)
