Snigdha Nandipati, 14, is the fifth Indian-American in a row to win the Scripps National Spelling Bee. The San Diego resident spelled "guetapens," which means ambush or trap, for the grand prize.

I am not a horrible spelling but I do have Dyslexic which screws up my head.I am like Bella Thorne from Disney's Shake It Up my eyes see the letters but to my brain is it like alphabet soup.I use Google a lot.I am a little better with spelling but I will never get rid of my Dyslexia.

For the most part I am a good speller, particularly because of the ''word-based'' subjects I did at Advanced level: Spanish, French, Literatures in English, Communication Studies and Caribbean Studies.

everyone looks at me like I'm some sort of dictionary. It's not that I know how to spell words, I just sound them out. Something that they haven't been doing in schools recently.
