There are really two meanings for my name. The original Scandinavian, Here-weald (W pronounced like a V), was pronounced Hare-vuld, which meant "Army Ruler." Later on spelled Herald and then Harold, the name literally means "One who proclaims."
The Germanic tribes later on adopted the name to change the spelling to Herald, and then the Brits changed it to Harold.
