Don't know how this is much an indication of anything aside from your interest in mainstream music. Only two bands I checked were Foo Fighters (who I'm not even that big a fan of) and Nine Inch Nails.
I'm into artists who belong to very underrated genres. Post-rock, Electronica, underground Emo... These aren't popular genres to begin with, and the artists that make up these genres are even less popular.
