Should we be able to flag posts for suicidal or self-harming behaviour?

I just saw and answered a question asking whether or not I'd call the police if someone on here was saying they were going to kill themselves and it made me think... a lot of people would feel hesitant about calling the police (there could be a number of reasons). So, what if there was an option to flag suicidal posts or comments? Moderators could then contact the authorities, who may be able to intervene.
The action of internet users has already saved lives, with authorities responding to alerts of suicide attempts posted online. We hold the power to help, as an internet community. We have the ability to flag posts for a wide number of reasons in order to protect each other from abuse, so why not have the ability to flag a post that could potentially save a life?

Have you ever seen someone online say they were harming themselves or going to kill themselves? If so, what did you do? If not, what would you do?

but i use 2 cut myself (on mii leg) im even sure if im still doin it
I was there, years ago, but much more private. I don't know how I would have been, had I had numerous message boards and a feeling of anonimity. I read a book recently where the author's life was saved when her suicide attempt via webcam was reported.
The human mind acts very strangely.
Often, suicidal people have personality disorders... with certain personality disorders, posting online might happen simply as the result of thinking it's no big deal, or hanging on to the slight hope that someone will care.
