Well, if you follow our Constitution and believe what the second amendment says. We have the right to carry a gun, You could be dead in some cases by the time you get a hold of the cops, let alone their response time. If they even show up.And no organization has the right to override the Constitution.

No, the national organization that is the official organization for neighborhood watch communities say specifically not to carry guns. Cell phone is also a good answer.

I see no problem with it whatsoever if they have the licence to carry it's not illegal. If your out walking the streets i would say that is a good time to protect yourself by all means necessary.

Whether or not they carry a gun would depend on the vote of the homeowner's association and on his/her training.

I can respect that. But you are talking to someone who's home was (I was away at school) and who's father was forced to shoot to protect the rest of the family. Oddly later that evening there was a successful break-in just up the street in an empty home. This is an neighborhood in Los Angeles County where today the average home price is well over $1 Million.

Well as you know I am happy you feel safe! I am also glad you allow for a differing opinion and why the view has a different aspect. You are very correct in mush of this. The 1st call is to the professionals and one should do as they instruct.

"The Miami Herald reported that in the gated community in which Zimmerman patrolled, there were eight burglaries, nine thefts and one shooting in the past year. Neighbors of Zimmerman described him as being passionate about security and credit him with thwarting and cracking some crimes. It was also revealed that Zimmerman identified himself as a Hispanic and was a registered Democrat."

You really needed the choice of (other) or something similar. there is no set answer to this question. Most of Chicago is a wild area where police won't get out of their cars even during the day. They just flash their lights and blare their sirens briefly and hope that will send crazy gangs away. But there are places that are much much much worse than that. My brother used to work outdoors inspecting gas wells and he carried a gun on the seat of his car. A cop asked about the gun that he had and he responded by telling him where he worked. And the officer said "And you're only taking one gun ??" Some areas are nice sweet and quiet and nicer than the sweetest old folks home. So there is no single answer. "Maybe" is the best answer that I can give.

As soon as you carry a gun on any neighborhood watch, it is at that moment you become a vigilante. The first thing you are taught in training by the Police is NO WEAPONS and especially NO GUNS. If you are caught or reported with one you are thrown off the watch. I agree with that totally. As I have said, "What part of "WATCH" don't you get?"
