    because there are nations out there with this policy and this policy impacts the entire world with higher abortion rates (female's are not wanted), infanticide (when twins are born or when a family can not find some one to take an extra child), "white" slave traficing (because there are not enough females to give every male a bride) and the complete and total elemination of family lines when the only child dies before they are married and have had a child of tehir own

    saddly though people are asking it ... and if the health care bill stands it will come out because there will be no way for the governments one payer system to finance te cost of multiple births to one family.

    We are not Communist China. Our country was founded on the bases of being free. Taking our God-given rights to have families at whatever size God gives us, is freedom lost. Many say we are over-populating and can't sustain these numbers. Well, if we look at all the fatalities and deaths around the world, we will see that God knows how to keep the population down on His own, he doesn't need any help with that.

    NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO TELL ANYONE HOW MANY CHILDREN THEY CAN HAVE. IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT AND YOUR WIFE AGREES, HAVE 20 FOR ALL I CARE. JUST MAKE SURE YOU ARE EMOTIONALLY CAPABLE AND CAN AFFORD IT.

    Population grows exponentially. Population can not expand exponentially forever. Therefore, the sooner corrective measures are taken the easier it will be to control growth. Sooner measures preserve individual liberty.

    population also grows because life expectancy is longer. twenty years ago some one 60 would be in OLD age... perhaps we should allow replacement births and start killing off older adults.... seems fair right given your logic we let a new baby be born to a family and we euthinze you????
    Now of course i am being mostly, MOSTLY sarcastic in order to point out your failed logic I would never promote the euthination of the elderly be they 55 or 105.

    Can you prove anything beyond the first sentence? Last time I checked you couldn't apply the scientific method to things that have not actually happened yet. Your theory is little else. Increases in productive capacity, especially recently, have always kept pace, or even surpassed the exponential growth of human population.

    I perhaps should have paid more attention to your third sentence. I agree that corrective measures can and should be taken. But whether a one child policy is THE corrective measure is debatable. I did mention something about increases in productive capacity.

    Your fourth sentence, and a similar part of the third, are truisms that can be applied to just about any problem that worsens over time. The sooner the better.

    I don't think it should have a policy, but people shouldn't be having kids, if they can't afford to take care of them.. I think it's absolutely nuts that people seem to keep having more and more children when they can barely take care of themselves then expect tax payers to keep footing their bills to take care of their families.. I think everyone should have the right to have as many or no children but it's all about what you can afford..

    you do not need to limit families to one child though you simply need to end their suport of them... they have children to increase the amount of government aid they are qualifed for. If the government would stop supporting them and tehy had to get up and go to work and spend their money on their children tehy would be more likely to limit themselves.... its like giving a drug additic free crack and wondering why he's an additic...

    Not unless a fertile guy and a fertile gal only want sex once! After all, with contraception rules tightening up, Planned Parenthood being destroyed, and conservative governors looking up your vagina, you may want to think "severely" about it! I mean, the rules, according to Rick Santorum (and a few Gov's) want to make it a SIN to "fornicate" without their O.K.!
