I don't see why not. It's kind of silly for it to be illegal if you ask me. If that's what puts bread on the table, and some guy is hungry to get laid, more power to both of them.
It's a career, whether people think it's immoral or not. And it'll keep happening, whether people like it or not. Therefore, I don't see why it shouldn't be legalized. They're not actually doing anything wrong, just having sex with people who willingly accept and pay. It's consensual.
It is a classic lesson in consumerism. There are women have a vagina that they are not using, and there are men that want to rent it for a time, so they meet up and money changes hands, and a little while later, the man is happy because he got the vagina that he wanted, and the woman is happy because she has more money than she had before.
I know there are drug addicted women that are selling themselves simply for the next hit. I also know that there are men that kill prostitutes because they are not going to be missed. And spreading STD's and all that. But, if you legalize prostitution, you can regulate it, have people tested for diseases, a union to keep track of population per city. It could work, but we would have to actually want to do it.
it's an industry that has been going on forever, they provide a service & possibly prevent rape & such like as people use them to get their sexual needs, it would probably make for safer sex with these prostitutes, it will also help with the current economic situation world wide in the way of income tax, it is an industry that will go on forever, so why not legalize it?
If it was properly regulated...like the Dutch and Germans do....where the "workers" are licensed and regularly checked for std's, pimps are illegal, and only certain areas in a city can be used for it. I believe in Europe, the pro's pay taxes and everything....
it maybe immoral for us but for them its the easiest way to make money and put a roof over their head and eat although i would try and stop a friend if they tried to sell themselves on the street also their is literally no difference from porn and prostituion your getting paid to have sex and be put online
reather its legal or not its gonna happen so whats the point honestly its not like ur killing anyone its just sme random person on the streets ful-filling there needs and actually gets paid for it, why make a big deal out of it u gotta take care of ur needs too except you just do it in a different way with out no pay thats all lol
if a woman wants to spread her legs to make a living...good for them..go for it.
if a man wants to stick his crank into it and take a chance of getting a desease then..good luck.
As far as the desease spreading issues go...bear in mind that so many individuals hook up in bars just to look for a screw and have no idea if they are infected or not
Yes, it should be legalized and they should be made to pay TAXES into the government. If they are going to do it regardless then they need to be paying in also... Got to remember its the taxpayer dollar that pays for the crime rate and fees... So they need to pay it back !
People who chose to sell their bodies for money are SAFER in countries where this behavior is legal. Think about it. A prostitute in a country where prostitution is illegal is virtually at the mercy of her customers. (Unless she has a pimp, that is.) He is in no way shape or form obligated to PAY her for her service because what she is doing is against the law. All he has to do is threaten to report her to the authorities if he doesn't do X, Y and Z for free and she really has no choice but to do it, unless she wants to go to prison. Then they get pimps to protect them and force customers to pay. In reality, however, pimps take advantage of and abuse their employees. Most of them don't even let the girls keep their money. Sometimes they forbid the girls from using protection.
In places like Amsterdam, however, prostitutes are not criminals, and they are allowed to defend themselves while they work without fear of being persecuted. This is how it needs to be.
Although I can see some problems with legalisation, I see more problems with it being illegal (primarily, abuse of prostitutes by pimps and johns, and STDs).

That way you make it as safe as possible, help with some of this debt, and take the women out of the hands of the pimps.
