Plus-sized model Crystal Renn was outraged to learn that photos of her curvy figure had been retouched.

“When I first saw the photos, I would have to say I was absolutely shocked,” Renn, 24, told the "Today" show. “I didn’t think it was an accurate portrayal of my body in any way,” she said. “I’m a size 10, and that’s more like a size 2.”

The photographer who took the photos for the charity Fashion for Passion defended his work as routine.

“The minimal retouching that I did do, it’s nothing you wouldn’t see in any magazine today,” Nicholas Routzen said, according to the "Today" show. “There is nothing hidden about this.”

As a teen model, Renn developed anorexia and bulimia trying to get down to a size 0. Now that she's embraced her size-10 bod, she's more in demand than ever. You go, girl!

When a plus sized woman sees an add with a skinny woman wearing the clothes her first thought is that wont fit me right. I think it's bad for business. Advertise what you sell. Women know what size they are. Shopping for clothes is suppose to be therapeutic for a woman not make them want to go puke off 20 lb. Since when is a 10 plus sized?

shopping clothes suppose therapeutic woman puke 20 lb 10 sized

Even thin girls are retouched. In the model industry the models have to understand that some will want you to look thinner or longer necked ect. and some won't. I prefer non- plus sized models personally. A lot of people compared plus sized models to "boney models" and use the most extreme pictures while a lot of then are curvy and attractive.
    such as
people compared sized models boney models extreme pictures curvy attractive

But then, I don't think photos of models (of whatever size) should be retouched.
People have cellulite, pimples, bad hair days. Why act like anyone anywhere is perfect?

I've said it before: unless the subject herself wants the photo retouched, then it should be left alone!

Besides, size 10 can be just as beautiful as a size 2-if not more!

It's sad that size 10 is plus size in the model world. Size 10 is healthy to me and a more accurate representation of real people.

All Models are retouched. You know those girls that are size zero in real life? Even they are retouched. It's not just this girl. If you pick up a magazine, everyone in that magaine, man, woman, and child, have all been touched with the photoshop.

However, size ten is in no way a plus size. Where I come from, size ten is medium.

That woman needs to go kick some ass. PERSONALLY, I think women who have a little more shape (6-10 in size) and MUCH more attractive. I happen to be the majority of men who like a more womanly figure, not a 13 year old girl's figure.
shape 6-10 attractive majority womanly figure 13 year girls figure
    Hell I'd go for that.
My current girl is a 6.

If they want a size 2, hire a size 2. I fail to see how a size 10 is plus size! Plus size is like size 16 and above!

Retouched is fake, and I'm not a fan of fake.
If it's too hide blemishes or acne, that's fine, but editing a model to appear thinner (especially when she's a PLUS SIZE model), is messed up.
Also, 10 should not be considered plus size...

I thought "plus sized" models were hired FOR their "PLUS SIZE". Many years ago I had a thin girl friend. She was limber because there wasn't much of her. One day I came into the room and as she slep I thought, "she may be in poor health", as I noticed the hip bones protruding under the tented skin. After we parted ways, I never persued a relationship with a thin girl. I like the ones that look and feel healthy enough to be around for a while. I don't want to worry if the skinny girl is going to expire with our next sexual encounter. Crystal Renn is a very good example of a healthy woman. She may be "plus size" to some...but, she's just right to me.

Size 10 is no where near plus size! Size 10 is even way thin in some people.....In answer to the question, there was no need to touch up a size 10 so yes i would have been a little ticked too.
