Airlines take into account weight as well as the actual number of passengers aboard so charging obese people extra seems perfectly fair. Incidentally - referring to passengers as "souls" is basically like begging for a plane to crash.

Otherwise the rest of us are funding their poor choices.

If their butt is so big it won't fit on one seat, they'll have to book two seats. But, if said people can solve this problem themselves, for example by travelling with a small child that only needs half a seat, then that is fine too.

Or even a seat and one tenth of somebody else's seat. Why should my disabled father be crushed by some obese person?

But I would, just so I don't have to listen to people bitch.
And then I would SIT in both seats.

Of course, if I had the money, I would buy the seats in the row in front of and behind me as well as those on either side of me so I don't have to deal with anyone else.

On the way back from Hawaii, once a hugely obese woman sat next to me and I asked to be moved because she was hanging over the arm rest and almost smothering me with her body heat. It was horrible. She HAD to have the aisle seat and even then, she was hanging out in the aisle. She should have had 2 seats and she knew it. They knew it, and I was so uncomfortable for the time it took to get me another seat. This would have been a 9 hour flight.

Yes ... I fly often and let me state first hand if you can't keep your body parts inside the seat arms, then you MUST purchase another seat.
