With more women feeling free to pop the big question, it only makes sense that “mangagement” rings are growing in popularity.
In case their silly moniker wasn’t self-explanatory, mangagement rings (or engagement bands as many men prefer to call them) are the male counterparts to the traditional rings women wear to indicate they are engaged to be married. In a number of other countries, it has long been customary for men (in addition to women) to wear engagement rings. However, the practice has only recently gained traction in America.
According to a 2011 study by MensHealth.com and TheKnot.com, 5% of men are currently wearing mangagement rings and 17% say that they are open to the idea.
So you may be wondering, how exactly does a mangagement ring work? Well, according to ABC News there are a number of options for men who want to symbolically take part in the excitement of engagement.
Some men begin wearing their ring on their right hand, and then move it to their left hand during the wedding. Others wear the mangagement ring on their left hand and then upgrade to a nicer ring during the ceremony. Some men just begin wearing their wedding band early. While others choose to wear both a mangagement ring and a wedding band.

And the very name used says that is exactly what is intended if not why call them MANAGEment rings instead of MANgagement rings?

ring with respect for their marriage.
The man buys two rings, or sometimes the woman buys one ring and the man another, and then they exchange the rings. Neither of them are meant to be fancy, generally both of them are quite simple rings with the name of each other carved into them.
