Should McDonald's Pay Worker Who Gained 65 Pounds?

A former McDonald's employee ate one too many super-sized Big Mac's with fries while he was on the job -- and now he wants the fast-food chain to pay for his weight gain.

A Brazilian court ruled this week that McDonald's must pay an ex-franchise manager $17,500 because he gained 65 pounds while working there for 12 years, The Associated Press reports.

The 32-year-old man said he "felt" that he had to sample the food each day to check its quality, because McDonald's hired "mystery clients" to randomly visit restaurants and report on the food.

The man also said the company offered free lunches to employees. In response, McDonald's, which might appeal the ruling, pointed out that they also offer workers healthier food choices. We have to wonder: Would the man have gained 65 pounds if he was eating the grilled chicken salad?

Yes and they should also assist him with his breathing, changing his underwear, washing behind his ears, crossing the street, . . .

    No, it's his own fault
No he should not be payed. It was his decision to eat it. Nobody made him do it. McDonalds shouldnt have to pay for someone that knew that they were eating unhealthy. He made the decision and now he has to face the consequences of his own actions.

He was the idiot that force fed himself McDonald's constantly. They didn't force him to eat their food. People need to grow up and be responsible for their actions.

No one forced him to open his mouth and shovel it in. If he didn't want to eat the food at work, he could carry in his own food from home. Another money hungry, not my fault, sue happy idiot!!!

We need a "It's your own damn fault" political party - let's see where some REAL responsibility for actions would take us!

Thats stupid. If he ate to many big macs that his fault. He shouldn't have eaten so much if he didn't wanna gain weight. And him feeling that he had to test the foods quality is bull. He should be fired if he thinks they should pay him for getting fat.

The worker needs to get out of every pocket they can scam because of their own inability to maintain some similarity of self-control and get a physical job to take their selfinduced lard off.
