It should never have been illegal. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, consume what you want. If the EPA and the FDA actually gave a damn about harmful substances Monsanto and DuPont wouldn't be spreading frankenseeds and deadly pesticides all over the earth.

They generally don't, getting high makes you NOT want to do things that require a lot of effort. Besides, this is a property issue. Do you own your body or does the government? We allow people to get into cars, which killed more people today that weed ever will (outside the terrible violence brought on by cartels and the DEA).

I'm not saying your points are invalid, but, the bottom line: Getting high increases the likelihood of doing something dumb.

It would help cut down on crime. It should be highly taxed, and the money could be used to fund a nation-wide 50-State, low-cost transportation system that would help to put tens of thousands back to work. That would help to take many cars off the road that shouldn't be there, saving millions car payment and auto insurance costs, and get US citizens more fit having to do a little walking.

My history professor made an amazing statement when we were discussing the legal system in this day and time. "It's suppose to be "Innocent until proven guilty" but now you have to piss in a cup to prove your innocence."

That aside, it is not a gateway drug, it has no dangers and it is not addictive. The only reason it is not legal is because the government hasn't found a way to tax it and therefore make money off of it.

It's a natural herb, created by God for our health and healing. Just because some idiots misuse it doesn't change that. And what about the DANGEROUS drugs put out by Big Pharma? Why do THEY get legal status when they even ADMIT in their commercials how horrendous their side effects can be?

NO NO NO If you look at some of thew reply's from the people that want to make it legal you can see what it does to them. Some say that it is not as bad as smoking,---- Hay dummy IT IS SMOKING! It is also addictive. The more you use it the more you want it and then more you use. Sober up and then think it through.

Hi, I use to smoke pot. Here's my experience. It mellowed me out. That's it. The day I decided to quit, I quit cold turkey with no withdrawals, no side effects, nothing. I know several people like this. Tobacco is outrageously more harmful than pot. Pot is not addictive. Period.

I agree it is bad because putting any kind of smoke in your lungs is not good. As far as the addictive nature...you are way off. I don't think you ever smoked pot. I generally will smoke for a bit and then take a few weeks off until something really good comes around again. I have never suffered from any withdraw symptoms. I quit drinking about 12 years ago and only smoke. Best decision of my social life.

Does this world need more deaths occuring? Marijuana would cause more births with handicapped kids I believe that drugs paralyze babies from growing and they become deformed and not being able to fully grown and now the parents suffer taking care of the kids giving a lot more special care and also a big cause on people with all kinds of diseases were they suffer and never can be normal and hide from the world all their life im not saying marijuana is the only cause other drugs are too and Im saying that people would feel more free to do marijuana and when they do it they will be high have sex accidently get pregnant and forced to take care of their handicapped babies that take way more attention, people are loose when high or drunk so they are more careless and less sensitive about playing safe or smart.

Yes indeed. That was the short dumbed down answer for SodaHead.
But the reality of it all is that marijauna has nothing do do why it's not legal in the United States. The real reason marijuana is not becoming legal is lobbies.
The paper, textiles, biodegradable plastics, construction, health food and fuel lobbies to be exact.
That's because a real close cousin to marijauna is HEMP (marijauna is hemps THC rich cousin), and if marijauna becomes legal, so will hemp become legal, and HEMP is the real problem with industry.
Because HEMP fiber is stronger and softer than cotton, lasts twice as long as cotton, and will not mildew like cotton does.
HEMP is one of the fastest growing biomasses known in the world producing up to 25 tonnes of dry matter per hectare per year, and cotton is about 1/4th of that.
HEMP is very environmentally friendly as it requires few pesticides, cotton requires ten times that.
Hemp produces superior paper than trees do, it produces superior textiles and clothing, biodegradable plastics, construction materials, hemp's oil is healthy for the human bio, and hemp waste can be made into biomass fuel for automobiles.
You can use evey part of the hemp plant for something beneficial for humans, the environment, and the economy.

That's why Marijauna has not become legal, because of HEMP being a major factor industry does not want let out of it's bottle to dominate their greed of selling piss poor products to Americans.
HEMP is superior to all other industrys products, and their lobbies will fight to keep HEMP illegal, and thus so will marijauna stay illegal. All because of greed in industry.
Hemp is legally grown in Canada, Spain, China, Japan, Korea, England, France, Africa, North Africa, Egypt and Ireland, and those nations have used it for the above purposes, and are saving billions of dollars for their people.
In America we still have a democracy where lobbies rule the roost of our government because of kickbacks, payoffs, and incentives given to our greedy political leaders.
I'm with the Green Party, and we want HEMP to be legalized for industry. So Americans can purchase better products at a cheaper price, that last longer.

There is the real reason, and like I stated, it has nothing to do with Marijauna, and how pathetic is that.

You know why it still is illegal? Because Big Pharma will lose sales on their anti-nausea drugs which some can cost $16 a pill, their glaucoma eyedrops which are ridiculously expensive....among many other drugs they sell, that people will need less of or not at all.
Pharmaceutical companies lobby Congress like crazy to keep marijuana illegal.
Anyone can grow weed, and that is not in their best interest. They want people to be dependent on the drugs that only THEY can manufacture and profit from.
