Should gay males in the US be taxed since their sexual practices cause AIDS?

In the US, AIDS is mainly a disease of men who have sex with men (MSM), IV drug abusers, and those who have sex with them. MSM's can transmit the disease to their opposite sex partners. Should gay men be taxed to pay for the consequences of their activities? If we tax smokers to pay for healthcare unrelated to the activity, why not tax dangerous sexual practices to pay for the outcome of said activity? Do you see how far this can go?

lol No. If we're going to do that, we'd have to tax people for leaving the house with any contagious illness. Do you see how far this can go? (And for the record, I don't think smokers should be excessively taxed either.)

But it's an interesting question. I just don't believe in punishing victims of any disease.

    none of the above -_-

Heterosexuals also spread AIDS if they don't use protection, homosexuals do not spread AIDS if they use protection. The question makes no sense.

Unsafe sex spreads AIDS, everyone should know better now--and no, such a tax would be discriminatory.

Not sure, but by the same token; could they also not be charged with attempted homicide for the same reason?

I'll take the savings of the gay community from the reduced reproduction and savings in the costs of children.... Maybe we should tax the fertile since children are very expensive for the government - except in a Republican utopia where we don't educate them or build them parks.

Do you think that teacher in North Carolina, who told a student he could be arrested for dissing Obama, was a Republican? You should check the site www.howobamagotelected.com and watch the interviews of Obama voters.

Most people take care of their own children, but I guess that is not what you believe. We are also spending a LOT more money than we used to but getting dumber students.

Is there something more than a remote tangential connection between my point and your point or is this random right wing mind association day... And PS - Although unrelated to my post or the general question I was responding to, I do agree we pay way too much for way too little in educational results...it's no better than our medical systems and I'll note how much better 'evil' 'social democratic' leaning nations such as Sweden, Canada, Finland, etc... do in both medical and educational performance... Is it possible we might actually learn something from other countries? And I do depart from 'traditional' progressive agendas in that I don't think that 'teachers' need to be paid more, rather I think they and the kids have to spend more instructional time.

We're in the 21th century now, gay people know they can also spread STDs and women have other ways for preventing pregnancy than using condoms. Also homosexual women can give each other STDs too, not just men.

Not on the level of homosexual men, which is a perfect example of the recklessness of the lifestyle.

You make it seem like every homosexual man has AIDS and is running around having unprotected sex with every person in town.

I'm a 16 year old gay currently abstinent male, should my mom have to pay taxes on me just because some homophobic fools assume that I have AIDS and will give it to everyone I know?

Everything you say is just so ridiculously ignorant and stupid, it literally makes me want to bash my head against the wall, because I just can't wrap my head around how someone could have such a discriminatory, nonsensical opinion.

It is sarcasm, and since you can't grasp that, it is no surprise that you make assumptions that were never intended. What is "homophobic" but a slur against people who tell the truth about unnatural practices?
