Christians are just trying to tell you the truth as they understand it. I wouldn't call it divine intervention either. The only way it could be "divine intervention" is if God himself is involved. I think you used the wrong phrase there.

I never understood why someone would take offence to me praying for them. Even if you don't believe in God, what harm comes from positive thoughts being directed your way?

Prayer is not positive thoughts, it is derived from superstition and fear.

It's all based on the person. A lot of Christians don't know how to spread the word and love of God the right way. I'm Christian and I don't act like all of those people do, lots of people use God and Jesus to make people do everything that they do and if not than they tell them that God doesn't love them, and they aren't going to heaven and that's wrong. What I do is tell people not to judge and love one another, and to be proud of who you are, and not let even anyone change you and put you down.

They should keep ALL their "divine" ideas to themselves, as should the Muslims, the Jews, etc., etc. That would let the rest of the world go to Hell...at least, peacefully, and peace....is divine.

I am a very spiritual person, and do not begrudge anyone else's spiritual path, I am more than willing to share my experiences with others, WHEN they ask. I think that should be the filter, if asked share, if not keep quiet.

Well I don't really mind discussions about religion and I'm actually intrested in them, but when any religion forces its belief on others, especially by law, I consider it foolish.

I always find it funny actually that some Christians denounce how religions like Islam in some countries decide their laws (e.g. banning women from driving) but at the same time keep the laws of their country in line with their religion (e.g. banning gay marriage)

Do you want a theocracy or not? On one hand you're saying its bad to do that on the other you claim that so and so is against your religion and result in moral decline.

gay marriage is against the laws of the land .. the law reads that marriage is between one man and one woman..
It is your thinking that leads to moral decline.

Why would it be immoral? How exactly does random people marrying affect your marriage? What rights are they taking away from you?

Well basically your reply had two points.
    1. gay marriage is against the law
    2. My thinking (that gay marriage should be allowed) leads to moral decline.

Therefore my thinking that gay marriage should be allowed is immoral. And so gay marriage is immoral.

PLEASE... don't go talking about a woman on this page blocking ANYONE! For many LIBERALS do not indentify WOMEN to be respected. So you live in Finland. You wish to tell us how CHRISTIANS put down muslims.... is that NOT what I saw you write?

Tell you what, YOU and people like you can try to protect them all you wish. However, when I as a man see their absolute disrespect and sorry attitudes toward women, it makes me want to vomit.

You let them take over your country and force women to wear garbs head to toe. You let them take over your country and force Sharia Laws on your future daughters and granddaughters. I will fight them here! And please don't tell me how many "fine" Muslim friends you know. Once they become a greater percentage than 30% of any given area, you will no longer be their friend, but their enemy.... unless you're willing to wear that garb yourself and never talk to a man other than your husband!

dont go talking about a woman on this page blocking anyone?

    I'm confused. Why not?

I mean to say that you can't be hypocritical. I don't gree with their policies. But you can't ban gay marriage because its against your religion or you'll be pretty much the same. Its the exact same thing. I think that many of their laws are wrong, even if its hidden under the guise of religion.

But what many Christians are doing, using religion in politics, is the exact same thing. I don't like theocracies. Christians AND Muslims doing that piss me off. I'm making an analogy of things I don't like. And I don't like either.

BTW I don't live in Finland. Or even in Europe.

Sunshine has me blocked. May I say that the "Law of the Land" is NOT the same everywhere, and as we become more "grown-up" we tend to change laws that reflect our immaturity. That does NOT mean we are in "moral decline". Many Christian beliefs are considered "immoral" to a Muslim. Many Muslim beliefs are considered "immoral" to the Christian. I think they should ALL keep THEIR morality to themselves, and let human decency be decided by the majority of HUMANS, not the leaders of religions.

"Morality is doing what is right, regardless of what you are told.
Religion is doing what you are told, regardless of what is right."

So what you say is but "relative" to your thoughts then as well.... for at your age, do you not remember the "SEVEN" sin words that could never be said over public airways?

Saying anyone of those words would bring instant fines and possible additional penalties from the FCC!

So, now, just a few short years after we were all shocked by hearing Rhett say, "Frankly Scarlett, I don't give a damn," to now what grade school children being able to have the freedom of telling some teacher, "F-off!"

Maybe those "moral" freedoms are good for you…. but not for me… nor what I wish my children to hear on a 24/7 basis!

Help me.... would you FIGHT Communism IF it tried to take control of America?

Law of the land refers to federal law. How much more simple can that be made? As to how our society is become more immoral is another thing. That is happening primary because of all the Politically Correct crap. It is now considered okay to cuss in public and at others. It is claimed to be Protected Speech. I suppose then crying Fire in a theater is now okay too.

Well, I chose this option over others just to reflect that I don't care for being inflicted upon to believe a particular way. A young woman approached me in a parking lot to give me a pamphlet. I asked "What is it?".. she hesitated, then blurted out "It's about going to Heaven!" I did not accept it and said.."Oh, that's okay, I'll be fine.. thanks". And that's a light version of that sort of thing.

I hate to say, but my experiences with people I've known having "become Christian" has been that they actually became worse people afterward. One example was a couple of women in a workplace, who after causing trouble due to their views, lost their jobs. I have known others who changed.. with "un-christianlike" remarks or actions.

I grew up in a super strict christian house hold and I've learned through the years that forcing beliefs on people on push them farther from it. Live by example and they will want to know you secret. Then share that blessing because it is no secret.
