+2Yes, and that's a good thing. What if employers couldn't **discriminate** based on ability? What if consumers **discriminate** based on the reliability of a product? Discrimination isn't inherently bad and is even good when warranted.reply - H H 2012/04/14 00:36:17YesYes, yes yes!!! The slower, duller, dumber students make school boring and stultifying for the brighter ones. The best educational resources should go to those who are best able to make good use of them. One size fits all in education is really one size fits only some. It is truly unfair to students to put them in programs for which they are poorly matched and cannot thrive. That works both ways, for lesser students in advanced programs and for bright students in simplistic, slow programs.reply

+1I sent my daughter to a particular school so she would have access to a gifted ed class. Wtihout that opportunity, she would have been completely bored in a regular classroom. I think the same applies to challenged kids as well.reply - kcandi Muskoka 2012/04/16 16:03:14
I can understand that, but I think children can learn from other children also, so why deny those who are challenged the chance for growth?reply - ☠ Live Free Or Die ☠ 2012/04/13 22:17:24NoThey shouldn't HAVE to, but if parents want to send a child to a "gifted" or a "challenged" school, they should be able to.reply

I know that feel. I was asleep for most of elementary and middle school, and I passed with flying colors every year. My teachers swore I was a "genius" whatever that means. .-.reply - Muskoka ☠ Live ... 2012/04/14 06:15:15
+1That is what my daughter is, I have no idea where she got her brains from. But she definitely needed a lot of extra help in school to keep her going in the right direction so she could stay interested.reply - Sister Jean 2012/04/13 22:15:48Nono no NOreply
