Should children be barred from seeing nudity?

And I don't mean sexual acts, sexual posing or lewd displays of the genitalia or other parts of the body. Almost nobody would want a child to see that. I mean a human body that is merely unclothed, whether it's an actual person, or an image of someone in a still picture or a video.

If it's not a sexual manner, then by all means, children should be allowed to see nakedness. They're going to explore their bodies at some point anyway. Nakedness is nothing to be ashamed of or taboo about. Everyone has nakedness. For example, America has so sexualized breasts that breastfeeding mothers are harassed regularly for doing what nature intended with breasts. You go out to a culture in Africa or Indonesia or somewhere, you'll see children running around naked and women covered only from the waist down because their breasts are nothing to be ashamed about. The mother and her anatomy is very underappreciated in American culture.

At the very least they should be allowed to see nudity for educational purposes and I don't see anything wrong with a child viewing nudity. Allowing a child to see nudity even if it includes sex is not the same as the child having sex. I have heard of children being traumatized after being molested but I have never heard of a child being traumatized after seeing nudity.

Nudity does not equal sex. This country is freaky that way. Children who grow up not knowing what the body looks like, or are otherwise shielded from reality, often turn out to be creepers.

I do not allow my children to see naked people. Adults who encourage children to look at naked people, are usually pedophiles and the material is usually pornography. If Nudity is ok, why did God take animal skins to cover up the nakedness of Adam and Eve? Since, you seem to know so much about God.

We are a family of avid nudist and our kids have grown up naked and love it and so do I. No clothes means no laundry. Nudist is not about sex. It is about going naked because it feels good, it is very healthy and saves money.

Nudity is natural and as a kid I remember seeing my mom and dad in the nude frequently when retiring in the evening going back and forth for bathing/shower and the same thing in the morning. It was not a big deal.

as long as the child is over 9 years old at least this way they become understanding of what the body is rather than grow to feel ashamed of the natural animal form which is human.

Nudity is not an adult mindset. Children are born naked, and for the first few years of their lives, they have a ball ripping their clothing off and playing around naked. It's adults' sexualization of nudity that has made it seem like an adult mindset.

my understanding was you were talking about children seeing adults naked and begin exsposed to adult type conditioning. wich has nothign to do with children living as children normally do.

There are still some remote African cultures where naked children, of all ages, live with naked adults all through their lives. Unless the children actually are uncomfortable with nakedness, there is no real reason to keep kids from seeing nudity, whether it's that of a child or an adult. All the reasons society has for this "protection of children from nakedness" are arbitrary and founded on cultural fear, rather than scientific fact.

yes and those cultures don't have western influences upon them, whereas the fornications are very lose and uncontrolable. sad as it is that is a fact of western culture and the main problem,

mind you had hollywood and places like the news not made such a big deal out of sexual missconducts and virtually promoated this type of fornications among the nations, we too as a culture may have been able to enjoy the freedom to dress more in line with the wheather conditions of the day.

But thanks to the degenerates in the nations a new code of moral conduct was given in order to change the views of adults thinking about sex with 5 year old children. that said it is a losing battle now that adults dress their children in fashions which display sexual attractions to men and women of al ages. so whats the real answer here?

Friends that have a sense of values. I raised my two kids and paid for their education and up bringing. Government needs to stay out of my business. I pay my taxes each year and am a good citizen. I give money to my local charity and each year work in our local soup kitchen. I taught my children to do the same.

I do feel like it should be kept out because I was really traumatized (its a long story) from that when I was a kid. I know its not sexual, but you never know what can happen. I'm a teeange guy just to let you know
