Abercrombie & Fitch has relied on sex to sell their products since the '90s, and they thrived for years despite facing controversy for selling sexy underwear to 10-year-old girls, and placing pornographic material throughout the store.
But it looks like even the oldest marketing trick in the book can no longer save the retail chain: they've lost a third of their market value and within the next three years will have closed over 250 US stores. Will you miss Abercrombe & Fitch if they end up going out of business? Do you still shop there?

What will all the middle class white kids struggling to express their individuality, while all looking alike wear?
First Banana Republic........now this.
It's obviously the President's fault.
To add, the company's marketing strategy is Disgusting to say the least; MAJOR turn off for this mom of a 16 year old daughter.
You're right, you get no value for your money.....and preppies like clothes that last for at least three generations.
I shopped there in college and actually I'd probably still get some items there as I was always a fan of the style and quality and even though its geared for teens to twenties its not goofy like other shops in that demo.
The problem is that they set a standard and were inundated with a a number of stores looking to cash in on the same market - and typically by selling cheaper clothes.
The competition should drive prices down, and I haven't been in to see if they have. But I imagine its still a good chunk of change for a top and jeans.
I'm sticking to the Goodwill.
Not that I ever actually started shopping there.
Wait....Can girls get hand jobs?
-Don't like that style of clothing
-Don't they make the sizes extremely small? If yes, I can't wear them...
