Sex No Longer Sells for Abercrombie & Fitch: Do You Shop There?

Abercrombie & Fitch has relied on sex to sell their products since the '90s, and they thrived for years despite facing controversy for selling sexy underwear to 10-year-old girls, and placing pornographic material throughout the store.

But it looks like even the oldest marketing trick in the book can no longer save the retail chain: they've lost a third of their market value and within the next three years will have closed over 250 US stores. Will you miss Abercrombe & Fitch if they end up going out of business? Do you still shop there?

Well most stores seem to hate thin people. I'm size 00 and they're one of the very few places that sell MY size.

00 isn't that small. Like I said, I'm a one but I can probably fit anywhere from a 00 to a 2. It's really hard to wear clothes bigger than that, because it falls down/too low cut/puckers/makes me look too skinny/too baggy/swallows me up, etc.

And I get made fun of a lot at school too. In that sense, overweight people are luckier because most people don't make fun of them, but they think they are complementing us when they call us small but really it's insulting. I've been called a walking skeleton, anorexic (not true), and I've been told that I have a hormone imbalance and I should get shots to make myself curvier.

I know what small is, my wife wore a 1 when we were married. My youngest daughter wears 2's and 3's and was called stick girl. I just told her she's the luckiest of all our immediate family, being we all are a bit rolly-polly.

Well I hope your daughter is ok, because being bullied or even just teased in school can really mess up ones self esteem. The worst part is, most of these comments were coming from my friends. But I guess there are good and bad parts to being small or big.

I go to Hollister. Owned by Abercrombie & Fitch, but much cheaper. And some of the clothes are similar enough. Besides, the Abercrombie & Fitch in our mall just closed.

For one thing their jeans aren't made for girls with asses like mine.... also I'm not paying $100 for the same type of jeans I can get at Old Navy for $30. Overpriced crap that you can buy anywhere else.

i wished sex stop selling everywhere then maybe the worlds idea of beauty would be just that, an idea. Real beauty would already be plastered all over the place, and people would at least have a clue.

I don't even know what there clothes look like due to the models lacking them. Why would I waste time going in when I can get a nice sampler of what another store has to offer just by looking at their window display or models?

Overpriced and not my style of clothing. Although they certainly loved their selves, didn't they. O, the young people in their adds were sexy enough, but they weren't selling sex, were they. O, well, no loss. They didn't have many customers. Their shop is across form a shop my Daughter likes, so I have gone in while waiting for my Daughter and I was never impressed. And I do buy clothes.

I liked there cloths but expensive, and you have to be small. What bugs me, people blame Abercombie and Fitch for there cloths, but parents took there kids there, my opinion that store was for high school, college students who worked, and could buy there own cloths, It wasn't meant for parents to take there grade school kids and dress them like they where in high school. I liked there cloths but to high price for me.
