Serious Question - How Do You Keep Birds Off A Patio?

Mr. Rock "n" Roll 2012/05/07 16:30:34

We have two birds that perch every evening above the speakers on each end of our patio. It wouldn’t be a problem but they poop down the walls, on the patio decor and the floor. Any ideas on how to deter them from using our patio as a bedroom.

I would try raising the speakers so they are flat against the roof then there's no room for the birds to get on top of them. :)

A firm stance, one in the chamber and a smooth trigger action (oh, aim helps too) ;-)

Just teasing, there is a product called bird spikes....http://birdbgone.com/ and http://www.pcsoutdoors.com/bi... are good resources.

Grace to you, Glory to God!

I heard that used dryer sheets deter insects and animals. My cat doesn't like the smell he runs.

Get a plastic owl and hang it close to where the birds are landing. This worked for me. Birds are afraid of owls. That always works. plastic owl

II have heard that putting a large rubber snake or a predator bird statue might keep them away

I have heard that. We do have a parrot hanging at one of the patio but I think he may act as the door man to the hotel! LOL! I'll try the snake idea!

Parrots are not good with home defense at most they will talk you to death through repetition.

This one is ceramic and does not have much to say. About the only time I hear him talk is after a couple of bottles of cheap wine! LOL!

We have a bird feeder in the yard about 75 foot from the patio. These two birds, i think it's the same ones, come swooping in each evening around 7:00. If we are on the patio the sit on the roof above and peek down at us until we go into the house. It is pretty funny but they are making a mess with all the poop they leave behind.

funny I feed birds and squirrels daily and they never leave a mess on my porch or walkway. My feeder is next to porch,in fact most days I throw handfuls out.on ground so pigeons get some, also.
