In case you haven't heard, Selena Gomez is almost 20 years old. So there's no reason why she shouldn't be posing in a sexy photo shoot for Elle magazine. However, for some of her Disney fans, pics like these are kind of weird.
One thing is clear: Justin Bieber's girlfriend, who will next be seen in an indie flick, is all grown up. "I get offered the teenybopper movies, and I've done that. I haven't done a mega-hundred-billion-dollar Transformers movie, but that's not what I want to do either," she tells the mag.
But she has no regrets about her Disney roots. "Disney is a machine, so people automatically assume that you can't work for the channel unless you act and sing and dance and sign up for all that. That's absolutely not true. I always did everything the way I wanted to do it," she says.
Gomez grew up poor -- "I can remember about seven times when our car got stuck on the highway because we'd run out of gas money" -- but these days, she's enjoying being spoiled by the Biebs, who recently rented out LA's Staples Center for a private screening of "Titanic." "If I'll share anything with you, it's that he really is a hopeless romantic. I had just mentioned it in the car - all I said is that I really want to see Titanic again, and then..." People really need to understand child stars grow up and become adults just like the rest of us.
Once they are over 18 they can pose nude or wear sexy clothing.
If you are prudish just do not look.
I am so fed up with Americans being so frightened of sexuality.
And I think this is fine. Have you seen how 16 year olds and sometimes 14 year olds dress nowadays? It's way more revealing than what Selena's wearing in this photo shoot. I think we'd be better off if parents took more care about how sexy their kids dressed instead of trying to control what 20 year old Disney stars are doing.
