In case you haven't heard, Selena Gomez is almost 20 years old. So there's no reason why she shouldn't be posing in a sexy photo shoot for Elle magazine. However, for some of her Disney fans, pics like these are kind of weird.
One thing is clear: Justin Bieber's girlfriend, who will next be seen in an indie flick, is all grown up. "I get offered the teenybopper movies, and I've done that. I haven't done a mega-hundred-billion-dollar Transformers movie, but that's not what I want to do either," she tells the mag.
But she has no regrets about her Disney roots. "Disney is a machine, so people automatically assume that you can't work for the channel unless you act and sing and dance and sign up for all that. That's absolutely not true. I always did everything the way I wanted to do it," she says.
Gomez grew up poor -- "I can remember about seven times when our car got stuck on the highway because we'd run out of gas money" -- but these days, she's enjoying being spoiled by the Biebs, who recently rented out LA's Staples Center for a private screening of "Titanic." "If I'll share anything with you, it's that he really is a hopeless romantic. I had just mentioned it in the car - all I said is that I really want to see Titanic again, and then..." Hell even if she wanted to pose for Playboy its her choice cos she is not a little kid anymore.... she is now a young women and a very beautiful one at that and during any interviews that she has done, she has always come off as someone with a very level head on her shoulders which is an amazing thing for a pretty girl like her who has grown up in the lime-light of being a celebrity.
"Fran, she's gotten her boobies. Oh, and they are so perky! "
Dear parents, just because your children look up to her, it's still your job to raise them, not hers.
If it makes her fans from Disney uncomfortable it's because they're used to seeing her play a highschooler in Wizards of Waverly Place, but it's really time for her to move on.
