Cheese is one of the most universally-liked foods in the world and goes well with nearly anything. If you ever wondered how long cheese has been existence, a recent report from the journal Nature will tell you. According to Nature, scientists have reportedly discovered pottery fragments that suggest that cheese has been in existence for more than 7,000 years.
The fragments have small holes and might have been used to separate curds from whey. According the report and Science Recorder, at the time this pottery may have been used, many people were lactose intolerant and could not eat large amounts of cheese. These days, it's almost like people find any excuse to incorporate cheese into their meal.
The main reason is because, well, cheese is delicious. The excess consumption of cheese has also been blamed for high obesity rates in America by some, but they are not directly linked by any means. Obviously, much like the old days of when that pottery was used, there are still millions who are lactose intolerant and cannot consume cheese--at least not as much as the average person. Some people just don't like cheese. Do you?
