I have 16 years, duh, maybe my opinion will change, but for now, I'll leave it this way. I admit- I have so much to learn... but for a woman in her 50's, to say to one child: 'You, really are an idiot' is really stupid. I don't want to offend, I respect older people but hey, who are you to say that? Nobody.

I voted nay not because I'm against gays but because I'm against marriage. There is no reason for people to get married anymore. Marriage between two people used to mean that the couple could legally have sex, so now I ask, "What's the point?"

What about procreation? It also used to be that a child born out of wedlock was a bastard and had to live with that label all their life. It is still not right, in my opinion, for a child to be born out of wedlock. However, marriage makes the parents both legally responsible right from the beginning without having to track down anyone for a DNA test! Our attitudes have changed so much over the years that it seems, "anything goes," these days. I think there's a lot to be said for some of the older moral rules and laws. It helped keep many people from "ruining" their lives, their futures. One good thing, though, God loves the sinner who repents and is a forgiving God. ... That's a little more than just my opinion.

I agree with you about older rules and morals. However, until values have changed, marriage should be a non-issue. I blame much of the collapse of marriage and family values on the feminist movement.

Now... I do think there is something wrong with people who are gay. But, I honestly could care less who they marry. Let them be happy. Its not their fault their genes are fucked up.

In terms of morality, don't appeal to the deity (or deities). Look instead at individual human rights - the right of the individual to his life, his liberty, and his property.

Let that set your moral standard, and THEN look at homosexual individuals engaging in the contractual relationship called "marriage."

God created marriage between one man and one woman. "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh." Genesis 2:24 Seems clear enough to me, we should not attempt to change what God created for our own lustful desires!

Because they were not of "God's chosen" at the time and they didn't follow the Laws God established for His people. They did as they pleased and married whomever they chose. Not everyone in the Bible followed God. There were thousands who followed "gods" of all sorts and made their own rules and laws to suit themselves.

Which means homosexuality -- a practice which a handful of Hebrew goat-herders once considered "evil" -- could be okay today. Because, like you say, time has passed and the rules have changed.

Please note, I don't share your religious beliefs and I could care less about the sexual hygiene of a tribe of desert-dwelling nomads who lived 6000 years ago. But I'm curious to know how you sort out your own logic.

Sometimes when we wish ill of others, it reveals our own fears or fantacies. And sometimes the old saying, "What goes around, comes around," manifests itself as truth. I do hope you change your attitude one of these days. Hate the sin of homosexuality, not the persons who practice it. In many cases their problems go much deeper than their sexual orientation. We're not to judge. Otherwise, we will be judged for our own shortcomings. None of us are perfect. It's a pity that people suffer so much in this lifetime; but for others, it's even more sad that they can't see the person beyond the problem. Also, for you to post such a pictuer of someone suffering like that reveals your own inner self and your own frustrations about life. Don't be so angry. Try to resolve your own insecurities.
