Rooney Mara Got Lots of Piercings for 'Dragon Tattoo' Role: Would You?

Rooney Mara certainly didn't take the easy way out when it came to preparing for her role in "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo." The 26-year-old actress -- who is about to become a HUGE star -- tells the January issue of Allure that she got multiple piercings on her face and body to play tough chick heroine Lisbeth Salander, including an eyebrow piercing and a nipple piercing (her right one, if you're wondering). Talk about some dedication, Rooney Mara!
"It was actually not that painful," she explains. "Everyone thinks that would be the most painful." The character has a nipple ring in the book -- so Mara says she had no choice. "I'm naked quite a lot in the movie," she says. "And I thought, She has it in the book, and she should have it [in the movie]. Because of all the tattoos and the makeup and the piercings, and the physical transformations my body has to go through, it would always feel sort of like I was in costume, even if I was naked. It just felt like a good one to get -- a necessary one to get."
Mara has since removed the earrings and the eyebrow ring, but she's still wearing the nipple ring. "It's not something I want to ever get re-pierced," she tells Allure. (There might be two sequels.) "So I'm going to keep it in." Ouch! Would you ever?

They aren't like tattoos. Tattoos don't really 'fade', but piercing holes close up.

I really liked the books and the Swedish movies.
I'm not going to do something for a role that I wouldn't do already. If it can't be faked or is not easily removable, then you cant just forget it.
