Government control has never worked for any economy, but that is Obama's only answer.
As I am involved in selling manufacturing equipment another of our current Presidents recent failures comes to mind. Manufacturing is slowly rebounding here but as I expected is being held back due to a lack of the skilled technicians to program and do the machine job task setup. Now had this been addressed in the very 1st year of his administration and set up in the next we would be well on our way to an even faster recovery based partly on an expanding manufacturing base.
Another glaring gaff is that as we have expanded Aid to Kenya a British firm has discovered oil there. Increased aid yet it is the British, Chinese and Italians who have signed agreements with the Kenyans for it's development! I find it very hard to fathom why the aid and yet no contract for their oil? This would have not only helped greatly to improve Kenyas long term but ours as well. Remember we are still very much leaders in the manufacturing of heavy equipment and also oil drilling equipment and the pumps etc. needed. Of course potentially lower energy costs here would also help greatly. Really more odd is this Chu guy a Obama appointee who says openly that our cure somehow is to have our energy prices in-line with Europe's. Lol...I mean who IS this guy?

The Healthcare plan has backfired and prices are still climbing. We spend over 15% of GDP on it and all the other nations we compete with are under 10% most with lower infant mortality rates and longer lifespans.
Now we have the highest corporate taxes in the world as Japan has lowered theirs and this while they suffer through one of the worst natural disaster in recent memory.
Sad to say but in the overall this guy just does NOT get it!
You ask many good questions and for some I don't have an answer but it seems you get the overall sense of what I am getting at.
Me neither
If gas keeps going up ,who can go to work (if they are lucky enough to even have a job) to pay the outrageous prices for groceries
IT'S THE ECONOMY, STUPID
and that was the mantra of the Clinton campaigns
This is par for the course for right wing politicos. Misrepresentation. They count on the American people to be too stupid or lazy to actually pay attention.
