Rods, or Skyfish, Are They a Newly Discovered Species or Poorly Recorded Animals and Insects?

Skyfish have been defined as:

Rods, sometimes known as Sky Fish or Solar Entities, are a rather new
entry in the field of cryptozoology. They are said to be creatures which
flit about in the air at such a high speed as to not be seen by the
naked eye. However, rods appear to be observational artifacts produced
by rapidly flying animals. Practically all sightings of rods are based
on video evidence, due to the propensity of video cameras to produce
characteristic stroboscopic artifacts when imaging rapidly flying
animals, especially insects, but also including birds. Their recent
popularity seems to be a result of media exposure in television and in
tabloids.

But is that correct?

A common theory held by cryptozoologists and believers is that rods are
some kind of unknown being. When viewing rods on camera they appear to
be able to behave and move on their own. It is proposed that they have a
thin membrane across their axis which is used for propulsion through
the air, in a manner similar to the way a cuttlefish uses its fins. It
has been suggested that Rods are possible relatives of anomalocarids
which have taken to the air.

One was witness during a professional football game hitting a ref in the shoulder and making a splash of watery liquid on the field behind him. The network has refused to release the video.

Actually I should have said something related to UFOs since after all it is an Unidentified Flying Object.... Never heard of them before but in this vast universe who knows what is still out there that we do not know about. Even our own oceans have not been explored to the depths of what is there.

They're just blurry images of insects.

If you want to skip the pseudo-scientific hypothesizing and get to the reveal skip ahead to 4:50 in the video.

There are millions of species we haven't identified. Granted, most are under the ocean, but it's perfectly believable that there are flying things that move too fast for us to see. Human eyesight isn't all that amazing. Sure, we can see a good range of colours, but that's about it.

Oh great. Good to know they are poisonous. I'd be inclined to think they're smaller though.

Looks like a hoax to give evolution a boost.

Why would anyone mount a pro-evolution argument based on these largely unknown things when there is plenty of solid evidence for evolution?
