If he had cancer I'm sure you feel relief that he doesn't suffer anymore. I know that doesn't make it any easier since pets become so dear to us. Sorry for your pain.
of course he had a great personality.. he would slide down on a slide on his own give high fives and try to be a lap dog even though he weighed 100 pounds ^.^
In the house I lived in two years ago had stairs and one day while going up he slipped and his back legs went spread egale and thumped down to the bottom of the stairs from the middle of the flight ( we had steep stairs ). He seemed just fine for about a year even though I noticed him getting a little stiff but not quit a year ago I noticed he was not moving very well and took him to the vet and got him and x-ray and he has a slipped disk. The vet said that an operation would be 50/50 chance and extremely expensive and the best thing to do is keep him around until the pain was to much. He is not able to take any type of pill and we can not afford $52.00 a week for pain shots so we unfortuantly have to let him go.
I am so sorry for your loss. I know how it feels to lose a pet. I had to euthanize my dog a few years ago because she had cancer and was suffering terribly.
I'm sorry for you loss, I know you're going through a tough time right now but just know your dog is in a better place now and he's watching over you.
