We told you earlier this week about Rihanna's latest tattoo: letters that spell out "Thug Life" across her knuckles in a pale pink ink (in tribute to late rapper Tupac Shakur's album). But a couple of days later, the tats are still causing controversy.

Haters have been tweeting that Rihanna is glorifying gang culture with her tats, but Rihanna isn't fazed by the criticism,"I #LOVE my new tattoo!!! Can't wait for yall to see it!!! I got it in 'Tibetan' this time!!! #approved," she wrote on the social networking site.

"Chill babes #noshade. Err'body has an opinion, but yall know what yall can do with them!!! #THUGLIFE (sic)," she added. The tweets continued. "I'm thinking I shoulda got a tear drop instead!!! #THUGLIFE maybe next time. "All eyes on Rih, betta picture me rollin' #THUGLIFE."

Clearly, this lady does not really care what people think of her. And it's paying off: She recently topped Lady GaGa as the most viewed female act on YouTube. She's also signed on to be the executive producer of a new fashion competition show being developed for British television, Rolling Stone reported.

But she is only 23 -- when she's 43, is she really going to want "THUG LIFE" spelled out across her fingers? Probably not ...

Lol I actually want a tattoo. It's not something I would get but I don't consider it thuggish. Everyone pays tribute to someone that inspired them in different ways. If she chose to put that on her body then that is her body to tat up and her perrogative. There are much more things on the list of what is thuggish that would go way above this.

Where the choice for stupid and who really cares. This broad has more money than a little bit and if she wants to spend it on a stupid tatoo what do I care. How does this affect me? Should I loose sleep over this? WTF people... her money, her life and her choice.

Is anyone actually reading through the story? She didn't get it because she wanted to be a 'thug' She got it because it was a tribute to Tupac, she got it in honor of him!

Thug : "A violent person, esp. a criminal."

A person who wants to be a "thug" is piece of trash in my opinion and a waste of space in society. To stand in agreement with the criminal gang lifestyle is a sign of a deviant and possibly evil mind.

I have found that many self professed "thugs" are really as scary as kittens in tiger pajamas.

Tattoos are a personal choice. I am not Rhianna fan by any measure but I think she all the right in the world to decorate her body the way she see's fit. Goo for her. I'm sure she's wonderful thug. LOL
