Conservatives criticized the Congressional Republicans for scheduling the Contempt of Congress vote on the same day as the Supreme Court's release of its decision on Obama's Affordable Care Act (aka "Obamacare").

Breitbart.com reports:In their latest display of political ineptitude, House Republicans today held the contempt vote for Attorney General Eric Holder over his failure to turn over documents in the Fast and Furious scandal. They could not have picked a worse time to schedule the vote.

The GOPers were stupid on this any way you cut it. Whether because it's on the same date as the SC ruling, or because Fortune magazine makes clear they were duped into thinking Holder did something wrong:

"A Fortune investigation reveals that the ATF never intentionally allowed guns to fall into the hands of Mexican drug cartels. How the world came to believe just the opposite is a tale of rivalry, murder, and political bloodlust."

It hasn't gotten the attention it deserved. Everyone is too busy talking about the Obamacare ruling. They have neglected the fact that a person that Obama appointed has been held in contempt for something that Obama claimed executive privilege over. It is really big and now it is overshadowed by the ruling. Another day would've been better.

See what? I agree but in all seriousness now no one is paying attention. Didn't you want to have everyone pay attention to the actual contempt of Eric Holder?

Why do you think Boehner went out of his way to bury this farce? He knows that this is just another embarrassment for the Right Wing, but he couldn't actually stand up to the tea party and tell them that they couldn't stage their sham vote. He did the next best thing. He could have scheduled the vote any time but he deliberately chose the time when it would get the least possible media coverage. Now the entire issue can go away and people might not remember how stupid the Republicans have been by the time November rolls around. You seem to be as oblivious as the Republicans - the fact that the President has asserted Executive Privilege over the documents in question means that it would be ILLEGAL for Eric Holder to turn them over. The Republicans just held a man in contempt for NOT breaking the law. Given the Republican contempt for the Constitution and everything it stands for, that seems quite appropriate after all.

Sorry, I have been reminding people that Obama has claimed executive privilege all day, so your assumption was a massive failure. I have said that at least 6 times today, that despite the efforts of congress it will amount to nothing as Obama has claimed executive privilege over something that he claimed to have no knowlege about.

Don't go around making dumb assumptions that you have some clue about whether or NOT I am informed.

It is Holder's own fault, had he not delayed, deflected, baited and withheld materials for so long this would have been over and done with a long time ago.
