As a Veteran of the Navy and Army, this holiday is very emotional for me.

They will never be forgotten.

I do remember and took the time to explain its true meaning, and importance to my son, earlier. I want him to grow up honoring, and respecting our brave soldiers who have done so much for us, as well as their families!

Great video and thanks for posting! I always give thanks to all who have and still are serving out country! Thank you!! I also remember my loved ones who have passed, they are remembered every day of my life..not Just Memorial Day.

I was taught this prayer when I was in basic training over 50 years ago.

I saw a soldier kneeling down,
for this was the first quiet place he had found.
He had traveled through jungles, rivers and mud.
His hands were scared and toil-warned.

He folded his hands and looked to the sky...
I saw his tears, as they welled in his eyes.
He spoke to God, and this is what he said.
God Bless my men, who now lie dead;

I know not what You have in mind,
but when You judge, please be kind....
when they come before You, they will be poorly dressed
but will walk proudly, for they have done their best.

Their boots will be muddy and their clothes all torn...
but these clothes they have so proudly worn.
Their hearts will be still and cold inside,
for they have fought their best and did so with pride.

So please take care of them as they pass Your way...
the price of freedom they've already paid.

AMEN!

That is why we fly the flag every year. It is why we remember those that gave everything and those that have served honorably. It is why we salute the flag at every parade and sporting event.

My family honors the veterans from all conflicts including those that fought for the South.

As a Vet. of The U.S. Army I would like to thank all of the members of our armed forces, both past and present. It was an honor and a privilege to have served with you.

And Americans need to do a better job not only remembering our own who made the ultimate sacrifice, and why, but our allies who stood with us in some of the darkest days of history and fought for a just cause. Our so called news media does a lousy job (mostly because of ideological bias) of ever reporting that fact. And in all modern conflicts Canadian Armed Forces and other allies, have been there with us. Thank God.

We owe our liberty and lives to the brave, devoted heroes - both fallen and living - that have happily dedicated their honor, integrity, families and lives to serving their Constitution, Country, fellow countrymen and posterity without even once second-guessing the sacrifices they've made in the name of Liberty.

A simple thank you just isn't enough to offer those who've selflessly sacrificed everything so that we may enjoy the most basic human right that much of the world never truly experiences -- Freedom.

This Memorial Day - we honor America's Finest, from the bottom of our hearts - Thank You, we'll Never Forget what you've done and continue to do for U.S.!

For over two hundred and thirty years now, they've answered America's call.
They marched into open fields and won our freedom with a musket and bayonet.
In two world wars they preserved our liberty and that of millions around the world.
They've answered every threat with the same resolve and courage.
No politician making speeches or policy ever won us anything.
It has always been a tired, dirty, hungry and scared rifleman who has marched towards the sound of the guns, and paid dearly for every freedom our nation has today.

Memorial day is just another day to me

Booooooooooo!

Well too bad all those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and paid for your freedom, didn't just say today is no big deal, and went home like just another day.

Look If you want to remember them you should remember them everyday not just one day of the year. Made the ultimate sacrifice, and paid for your freedom the military doesn't fight for freedom but for the government so people in power can get more powerful.
War is fought for greed not freedom

Fortunately for you -- they'll continue to defend and preserve the Document which forces govt. to recognize your rights to be as unappreciative, disrespectful and childish as you choose - freely.

And for the record, since you're obviously unaware of this -- Our Troops take an oath to protect and defend the CONSTITUTION against ALL enemies, both foreign and domestic. Not even the President of the United States can order them to defy their oaths, for they pledge no allegiance to the potus or the govt. They serve the document that requires the recognition of YOUR rights - even the ones you take for granted - NOT the govt.

On that note - if you don't care then why did you post? Seems awfully childish to stir up trouble with those that DO appreciate our troops.
