Religion has been, nightmarishly harmful, throughout modern history. holding back science, art...oh, just, too much to list!!

But faith is as good or bad as the person.

If you check out Jesus' word and the New Testament you will see He came for GOOD.

    Galatians 5

14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

    Romans13

For whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. 9 The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

    James 2

8 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself, you do well; 9 but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors. 10 For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. 11 For He who said, “Do not commit adultery, also said, “Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty. 13 For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

    Ephesians 4

29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

    1 John 4:20

If any one says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen.

    Proverbs 10:12

Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.

    Matthew 22

34 But when the Pharisees heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. 35 Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”

37 Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’" 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two

commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

    1 Peter 4:8

Above all hold unfailing your love for one another, since love covers a multitude of sins.

John 13:34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

I dont look for a personal view, I look for a realistic one, I believe I am capable of bringing change and therefor need to know exactly what I can change.

As accepting as I am of religious people and their entitlement to believe whatever they want, I still think it does more bad than good. Religions are said to observe the practice of receiving and embracing each other, bringing people together, when really it creates a divide and segregates people in the worst ways.

RELIGION-THAT'S A BROAD SPECTRUM. WHAT RELIGION? HINDUISM IS THE MOST FAILED RELIGION ON THE PLANET. MORMONISM AND JEHOVA WITTNESSES ARE CULTS, JUDIASM IS GOOD EXCEPT THEY LEAVE OUT THE NEW TESTAMENT AND DON'T SEE THE TWO TYPES OF THE MESSIAH REPRESENTED IN THE BOOK AND PROPHECY OF ISAIAH-THE SUFFERING CHRIST AND THE RETURN OF THE RULING & REINING CHRIST-CHRISTIANITY AND CATHOLOCISM ARE TRUE BUT SO SPLIT BY TRADITION AND ANIMOSITY. You do not understand the word, "religion?" Do you think it is, literally, meaningless without a qualifier?

You, post a question about a specific religion, maybe, but that will be a different question then this one, won't it?

Jesus died for our sins, rose again and sits at the right hand of the Father to interceed foir us and grant us forgiveness or to have us cast into hell- since He will judge us we need to find Him and live according to His laws - that ios the reason this world stands as Jesus is calling out His flock. There is no other reason for the worlds' existence.

Me too, theres no way to guide someone into it, they have to find it themselves.

It is why I despise religion, it takes that journey away from them
