This is my cider recipe for the winter holidays. I put it in the crock pot and just let it warm. I or 2 containers each (or more - depending on how many you have over) of apple juice and white grape juice. One jar of crabapples (or more if needed). Pour all into crock pot. If all are drinkers, you may pour Southern Comfort in at this time; if not, just in each cup. Serve warm in a mug with a cinnamon stick. Yum! I serve this if I have a Halloween party.

I finally am getting around to writing out some recipes for Diabetics. As some of you know, Splenda makes Splenda for baking, so I substitute that for the sugar that they call for in the recipes. If you choose to use sugar, it is still the same amount. I hope that you all can enjoy these recipes with someone who does have diabetes, I think that I have picked out the yummiest sounding ones from the recipes that I have! ~Enjoy!~ Jeanine

There is another group named the Conservative Coonass Coalition. They have a forum on cooking. Several of us have contributed recipes there. I don't know if you have to join to check it out, but you ought to give a peak if you are looking for a little Louisiana lagniappe. As of 31-JAN-2011 there are recipes for 3 kinds of Gumbo (Shrimp, Seafood and Sausage, and Smoked Turkey), Crawfish Pie, Crawfish Vermouth, Cream of Shrimp Soup, Oysters Mosca, Stuffed Flounder, and Tarte a la Bouille Pies. I will try to keep you updated as new recipes are added.

When I was a kid growing up just south of OKC in Norman, it was a treat to go to an Italian restaurant in OKC that I remember we pronounced "sussy's". I'm sure it was an Italian spelling and may have had the name Jack in front. As kids, we always got pizza, but the grownups would get a real meal. I recall they had nice tablecloths and bibs for those eating spaghetti to protect against the sauce. I wonder if the place still exists or not. That was over 45 years ago.
