Absolutely. And there's even discrimination today too, despite what many may think.

Affirmative Action, for one, legalizes racial discrimination, which I think is absolutely atrocious. Such an allowance does nothing more than put innocent people today at a disadvantage because of mistakes of long ago, mistakes that they themselves didn't commit. It's the forceful creation of "white guilt" at its finest. >.< I've had several white friends and acquaintances turned down for various positions and even schools because they are white and don't meet the school's or whatever's quota, despite that these friends are highly merited for whatever they applied for. One girl I knew had been salutatorian of our high school graduating class (and we were rated one of the top public schools in the state and had a graduating class of almost 600 students aka we were competitive), Student Council President, Chief Editor of the school paper, etc (she was so well respected that teachers would ask her to write recommendation letters for them!), and she got turned down for a school she applied for because she was white.

And, of course, too there's illegal discrimination amongst individuals and that happens also quite frequently. My sister-in-law was on a softball trip once when her team had to stop for food at some fast food place. The majority of restaurant employees were black and they refused to serve the whites on the team before the blacks on the team.

Not that these sorts of things don't happen to non-whites, but it's surprising how many people feel like whites never get the short end of the stick or outright discriminated against simply because being white "means they're privileged" and "protects" them. Pfft! Absurd, imo. The fact that whites get socially destroyed for stating "white pride" or something of the same is proof enough that whites get discriminated against. I remember reading that some European Culture Club at some high school was getting shut down because it was culturally insensitive (the members of the club weren't but people were upset that a "white culture club" was in existence), and yet the Hispanic/Asian/etc Culture clubs were maintained. Hmmm... Doesn't fly with me. =(
