Harold Camping owes his parishioners an apology.

Could you imagine getting all ready for the end of the world and it doesn't happen?

Well don't worry folks...in 17 months we get to do this all over again (if we are not struck by a meteor first.)

Which is your favorite apocalypse?

Global warming scares me. The last ice age came so fast that animals (the mammoth in this case) had food still in it's stomach! If that happens I hope I'm flash frozen and I don't feel a thing. The rapture . . . if you admit your sins and ask for forgiveness, you get into heaven right? I can do that. I'm not sure what the Mayan Calendar apocalypse is.

Zombies for some reason just appeals to me.

Here's an apocalypse idea: the president is assassinated, a biohazardous weapon is released killing off large amount of the population, nations bomb eachother while pointing fingers and when the smoke clears what is left is left to fend for themselves.

I had a scary dream like that ones. It was like Sean Claude Van-Damme's "Cyborg" meets "Night of the Comet" and "Tekken."

Climate change is not a matter of opinion; it is a matter of physics. IF, and that's a big "IF", you want the probabilities of anthropogenic climate change, listen to the scientists, not the politicians from the left or right. It's a quick and easy google to "Science Daily."
Otherwise, continue to live with the egotistical notions that also drive the unreasoning religious to believe in opinion-driven fears.

"Cold Earthers, those public relations shills who continue to hang, beyond reason, onto the old idea that global warming couldn’t possibly be due to human behavior, have attempted over the last couple of years to create an impression that climate science is beginning to turn away from the anthropogenic hypothesis. They’re suggesting that, due to one or two isolated cases of problems in climate data, the entire idea of human-caused climate change is being thrown out the window.

Actually, the opposite is true. As more and more scientific studies are done, the conclusion becomes more and more solid: Global climate change is happening, it is primarily due to human activities, and it is getting worse."

I am conducive to believing God's description of END OF THE AGE, rather than aocalypse. Christians have a responsibility to preach the resurrection and that becomes lost in NONSenSe apocaplyptic stuff, including A rupture/Rapture. The dead are resurrected first and then the living are "changed." And so it will be.

Being a scientist myself the global warming apocalypse is the most absurd junk science I have ever seen. The poor, poor people who believe that people could do anything to upset the balance of the earth. It's funny, the warmest the earth has ever been was during the age of the dinosaurs. I guess they were driving around in automobiles too.

My thought on why The Mayan calendar stopped after 500 years is one of them said " Hey 500 years for now is enough, now lets work on another project such as building a new sacrificial temple to please the Gods ! " I mean, like how long does one have to project a calender to ?

it. seems the whole world has gone apocalypse crazy. Are we that unhappy with our lot on earth that we are desperately trying to end it. Seems the only winner after yesterdays little soiree with the false testament of Rapture Science was the Old Pastor who bagged over $73 million guess who is sticking his two fingers up at all those crazies desperate to catch the spaceship to heaven. 73 guess sticking fingers crazies desperate catch spaceship heaven Camping s two fingered salute to Christians

The only apocalypse I can see for man"s future, is one he would create for himself.. Man's history is but a minute in earths history, I would expect the species of man to become extinct, long before the so called " End of the world".

I'm going for the Rapture. Floating up to Heaven sounds a lot nicer than being eaten by zombies. As far as the Mayan calendar end of the world, how do we know that it wasn't just one part of their calendar. I mean, what if, hundreds of years from now, Earth's future residents find one of our calendars. Are they going to deduce that we are predicting the end of the world on December 31, because that's as far as we've gone with the calendar?

I should have checked a different answer! However, since I marked the one I did, I'll just say that the rapture is the one that will count with God-- but it will happen when He wants it, not at man's command!
