Random question: Would a white, lace dress be considered as too "formal" for school?

It quite looks like that (but longer). If so/not what accessories or other clothing pairs can I wear with it?
PS. How about flowy (I know not a real word). floral dresses.
like this:
sonot whatnbspaccessoriesnbspor clothing pairs wear ps flowy real floral dresses
Or the ones with the semi-detached flowy sleeves?
I wear dresses 75% of the time- anywhere. But at school people have told me that sometimes I dress too formal or like I'm going to a fashion show or a party. I've taken these as compliments, but I want to dress more casual this year. Thanks.

A full length dress is too restrictive for school, let alone too formal.

No it is the cut of the dress that makes it formal

I would say no, but I wear "too formal" things to college all the time just because I like to, so who am I to say? If you're concerned, try pairing it with a blue jean jacket and cowboy, combat, or motorcycle style boots.

    Here are some examples:

white dress with jean jacket and boots
white dress with jean jacket and boots
white dress with jean jacket and boots
white dress with jean jacket and boots
white dress with jean jacket and boots
    white dress with combat boots

I don't think it is too formal. And a ornamental brown belt around the waist can really look nice on one. brown belt
    white dress with belt

You could wear a denim jacket over the dress; denim clothing is generally more casual. dress with denim jacket

I really enjoy the white one, I don't think it's too formal for school either. It looks very nice and summery and beautiful.
But the floral print one... has got to go baby gurl

Personally I'm not a fan of shapeless dresses with long puffy-like sleeves. I guess its fine if your in an indie music video. As for the print, it looks more old-person and less retro.

Also, The idea of a denim jacket was great, maybe with the ankle boots! That would be a little edgier - and you can pull it off

Wear what you like and don't worry about what others think. As long as it's within school rules.

An evening gown is overdressed. What you're showing here is just fine for everyday wear IMO.

I would try booties(black) cause its winter time and your shoes should say so. Ur shoes should be the same color as your Accessories(that's my style).

I don't think any of the dresses you described sound inappropriate at all. I think they're much better choices than wearing a t-shirt and jeans everyday. I would have worn clothes like that to high school if we didn't have uniforms. If you enjoy dressing 'dressier' I think you should be commended for doing so. If the outfit's not so fancy that it looks like what one would wear to a wedding or formal then it is just fine.

You didn't mention heels but I don't think they're such a good idea. Depending on the outfit, ballet flats, pretty sandals, mary-janes, or oxfords would be appropriate footwear.
