The London Olympics are only a couple weeks away, and Americana designer Ralph Lauren and Team USA are ready to present themselves to the rest of the world. Lauren released the designs he created for Team USA to wear in the opening ceremony, describing them as capturing "the spirit of American athleticism and sportsmanship." What do you think of the designs? Are they fit for an Olympian -- or are they kind of "meh"?

COCOPEREZ.COM reports:
Ralph Lauren is ready for London, and he’s bringing berets! The All-American designer was tapped to design Team USA´s garb for the London Olympics and they´re finally here!

I really get that "we're better than you" vibe from those outfits. Perfect.
**EDIT** I just read that they were made in China. Hahahahah.

Whats even worse is that every single frigging item was made in China, how effed up is that?

The price of all this made-in-China preppiness — if you for some reason want to buy it — $598 for the women’s blazer and $498 for the silk skirt. The men’s blazer is a staggering $795, flat front trousers $295 and nubuck shoes are $165. And that damn beret? $55.

Looking at the outfit, it doesn't do much for me. Looks like he's aiming towards winning the contract to redesign the military uniforms after the games.

The design screams "The Love Boat," not 'athlete'.

Looks more like a leisure suit for someone who has too much time to spend on a yacht. And is that the Polo trademark on front? Seriously? Why not the Olympic Rings?

The outfits are to conservative! "Olympian" represent "Sports" something more casual would have been more appropriate. That outfit would be just right for the military, maybe the "Airforce"!
