Racism: Should we have MORE race based TV stations, Scholarships, and Programs, or NONE at all?

The moment i saw the option to check off if you are African for a scholarship made me disgusted, i would have loved if a white south African checked it off to see the response, equal treatment for all, race should not give you a scholarship.

I actually had a friend in highschool that lived most of his life in South Africa and he marked African-American. It was never a big deal.

Such a biased poll. Fact is there should be diversity in the mass media, not just everything the same. And being proud of one's heritage does not automatically make you a racist. I suppose you want to do away with St. Patrick's day parade?

Who is stopping you from forming a NAAWP, seriously why don't you? Who is stopping you from beginning your own White's only college? Who is preventing you from funding a whites only scholarship? You think it's wrong for me to give out a scholarship to Hispanic students, it's my money and I can donate it how I want.

I dont get what people mean by "white pride". I mean people already celebrate being german, jewish, french, hispanic (yes a lot of white people are hispanic). I found out that at least 60yrs ago there were still people being racist as Hell to minorities. I think that a few deserve to understand their culture. And its pretty darn awesome to know how they reacted back in those times. But when people say they are proud to be American I think that means they are proud to be in a group of diversity, and love what this country has become. When they say they are proud being asian everyone thinks back to the past, when they say they are proud being black everybody thinks back to the past, when they say they are proud to be white......... White Americans did a lot a lot of horrendous things in the past. Race groups are to celebrate and learn the past.. And why would white Americans celebrate that? Theres STILL an after affect that is biting people in the ass (like crime,poverty). Really, it doesnt matter, if you did it, your dad did it, your grandad did it. It happened. Theres blood up to everybody's ankles, and some people a still bleeding. Its time to heal and to clean it up, than to pretend like its never there.

no one is pretending anything. you can look at others in a racist way, as "minorities", as "blacks", "whites", etc, or you can end racism by letting all of that BS go, and just see people as people.

-Scholarships go to Latin Country Decedents, African Decedents and any other Country that is the former home to our minorities.
-NAACP renamed NAAAD (National Association for the Advancement of African Descendents.

What dang programs are racist! The only ones that I see are usually documentary's about different organizations. Everybody want a program that relates to their culture. They have it in other countries. America is pretty diverse now.

P.S.

We already have the white TV networks. It's all the major ones......NBC, CBS, FOX, PBS, and the other stations like these. They cater to the majority population in America.......White.

one thing you have to reolize is When were the majority of these race based programs funded? My best guess is during the 1960-1970's (I really should look it up but my computer is too slow right now) shortly before or after the civil rights movement. So orignially they were there to help out racial minorities get jobs, houseing, scholarships in a very highly racist America. So the orignal intentions were good but now since the rights and freedoms of racial manorities are protected by most City, State and Goverment laws. I do belive that these orgnizations should consantrate less on promoting pride of race and consantrate more on intergrating the races....

I doubt it will happen in my lifetime but hey you never know

Dividing humanity up into 'races' serves only those who would divide us in order to conquer and enslave us. The Media is one arm of the group who firmly believes that they have every right to rule over us, to control our numbers, our lives, and our future.
