QuiBids: Is It a Scam?

I've been hearing from different places that QuiBids, a new penny auction site, is a scam bc it makes you think that you're getting an item for a lot less than you actually are.

You see, one penny on QuiBids actually costs 60 cents so even though it might say that an item is currently being bought for $20, it's actually more because each penny actually costs 60 cents.

Do you think it's a scam? Do you use QuiBids?

I absolutely LOVE my Kindle I got from Quibids.com. It's easy, readable, portable and convenient. I take it everywhere with me for those times when I have to wait for someone or something and have a little bit of time to fill.Talk about EASY to order books, hard to believe.

Yes, it is.

I looked at it once and I saw that you had to pay to bid. The advertising doesn't mention that. I don't want to pay for a chance to buy something at a lower price.

Although I don't use it I checked into it a bit and frankly I don't know if it's worth it to do it, I mean you set it up like a prepay thing and a one time up front fee... although it looks like a good idea I don't think it's worth doing in the end.

In a way, it is a scam, because yes, you are paying to bid. It's almost like a pyramid scheme, except instead of the bottom layer or 2 of people getting screwed, in this case it's all but one person getting screwed. In fact, the "winning" bidder may get screwed too - how much did they pay for the bids to get the win?
