Public school or Private school?

theres no way i could go to a private school.

Most public schools pay teachers much more than private. Where to do you think the good teachers are going to go? If you are good at what you do, would you work for less money doing the same job? Private school does not equal better education (smaller class size maybe, but not better).

Most urban schools are breeding grounds for peer pressure and gangs. The dropout rates are high. Teachers are scared. Parent backing is absent. They waste time on standardized test scores and a whole month on black history.

free to wear something other then uniforms, awesome field trips, good food, nice teachers, why WOULDNT i like public schools

the private school my kids go to dont have uniforms except on mass day, they have field trips, they food is great and the teachers are AWESOME! Private schools= better education... hands down

They're a kick in the ass, but at least you know what the hell the REAL WORLD is like.

In my state, private schools are really the only way to go for an equal education to other states. I don't like how private schools are so expensive and very conservative but if that's what I have to go through for a good education then I will take it.

quality, equality PUBLIC (properly funded) schools.
MOST private schools have the seeds of fundamental and far right christian teaching (and acting) policies. In other words, can be and are discriminating and manipulative.
Good Public SECULAR schools was the right choice then and now for American education.
BUT - we have mental illness in society being ignored and it is NOT the public school teachers job (or pay grade) to have to deal with that. Special Education must be re-instituted.

So why did you make them change schools? Besides relocation or something like that. If the private school was better?

Private school was in CA. We relocated to AZ. The schools are far more expensive out here, we cannot afford to send them here.

I know! The private schools in Az are so expensive. I attend one now...so much. But, Az doesn't have a good school system anymore so I guess it's worth it.

If its a decent public school. Certainly in some communities, crappy schools are the only option available.

I would support public schools, but the direction they've headed for the 50 years seems irreversible. It got worse when the spawned out relics of the 60's completed the takeover of the education system in this country. Now, the people who once chanted in the streets.'Don't trust anyone over 30.'.........are all over 50. Private schools consistently outperform public schools for a variety of reasons. Mostly, the teachers can just teach....and the administrators can just run the school without having to worry about the strings attached by money from the Federal government....and there are ALWAYS strings.Parents need to be more involved in the process too, but we hear of only a rare school that seems to be making the grade. The vast majority of public schools are not doing the students justice.

But I used to go to public. It helps build life skills in my opinion.
