i went to private grades 1-3, public grades 4-8, private grades 9-12, public college, private law school. my sons went to private pre-school, and public school grades 1-12. my oldest son when to private college his first year and public college years 2-3. my youngest son is going to public community college. my wife went to public school from grand 1 through college. my parents set all 6 of their children to private high school. the thought of the cost of that intimidates me.

I've only been in public for about...2 years? I've been in a private all girls Catholic school before for the rest of it though. Since I was 6 till I was 16. I must say that I like being in a public school better.

Went to public school for almost all of my life, and am now going to a state school for University. Never been a fan of private education. It's just not the same.

I went to a small private school grades 6-8, which was good for me. Before that I was at crummy public school that was no good for me. The private school made me fit to go back out into the world and not be at risk of killing people. Now I'm at a public school that is better then many private schools, and I'm doing better then ever before.

If you can afford it, give your child the best possible opportunity, PRIVATE school. As a past public school official, you would never believe what happens behind the scenes to coddle the teachers and leave your children to fend for themselves.

This is one thing I'm very opinionated on, mostly because I have a kid where my decision will count on the schooling. Personally I think public is better because not only are they exposed to different people but their cultures and religions to and don't get me wrong. Private school offers that as well. I just think public is a better place.
