Making the baby? Thumbs up! Pregnancy and delivery? Thumbs down. The finished product (the child)? Definitely Thumbs up, in spite of the fact that motherhood is not for sissies.

I would better describe it as more of a spritual, miraculous experience. . .Coming from a mother of 3.

Perhaps not the birth itself rather holding your baby in your arms for the first time. For me they were the best moments of my life so far. I instantly loved my tiny, perfectly formed little babies and didn't want the nurses to take them away from me to bathe them etc.

I've given birth, its disgusting. There is nothing beautiful or miraculous about it. In MOST cases every woman can get pregnant and give birth. Nothing special about it. My child is beautiful though. And I'm sure some angry vagina haver is going to cry about how because I said giving birth is not beautiful I must be a horrible mother. Wrong. I just have the capability to admit things, like the fact that giving birth is gross and messy nothing pretty about it. Did I enjoy giving birth? No. Do I like the end result? Yes, going through the messy icky painful process presented me with my hilarious, smart, cute kid.

The procedure and time involved may not be beautiful for the women. However for the most part a mother bonding with a baby is a beautiful thing. A mother knows what is truly beautiful.

The birthing part.... not so much. Holding the baby in your arms for the first time? Magical!

Well, I suppose it all depends on her point of view.

according to my mother, its painful and messy, and the doctors make it worse by making you lay on your back, taking your baby away, drugging you, feeding your baby sugar water, threatening you, and not washing their hands.
birthing centers/ midwives are a better experience though, and much easier.

It depends upon the individual woman and her particular experience with childbirth.

    It depends on the woman.
But the child's birth is surely not as wonderful as bringing the child up and watching them grow and become an adult. That's where the bond really becomes strong.

Birth is not beautiful- period. It sounds horrifying and painful. I am not a mother, but if I were I'd enjoy watching my kids grow up and develop their own interests and goals in life- that would be beautiful. I'd love to see my kid write a poem or learn to sing, dance, play a sport or write stories... now that would be just lovely.

Women who do not give birth or raise children can also have wonderful lives. I don't like how these questions imply that a woman without children is not living to the full extent of her ability.

where does the question imply, women without children have terrible lives...and you would have to have a child to see them grow up and most women i know would put up with the pain for all the enjoyment that goes with having children...birth is a miracle...

It's something I wish people would stop saying. These types of statements makes girls spend far too much time believing THIS is what they NEED to do in order to BE a woman, and it is NOT what makes a woman a woman at all.
