I'll repeat my answer from the original question:
1) Safe sex ed is better than abstinence only (or no sex ed) in every way
2) No matter what you think or want, kids have sex earlier and earlier
3) Knowing is half the battle, and it's always better to be safe
4) Teaching them doesn't mean they're actually going to have sex, only that they'll know what to do when they do.

Last week we asked SodaHeads if 11-year-olds should be taught how to use a condom. It was a close call, but public opinion suggests that kids should be a wee bit older before getting that part of "the talk."
If you missed out on the original story, here's what sparked our interest:
It was a close call this time around, and the break-down was a bit more complicated than previous questions we've looked at.
Religion and politics broke down as expected, but age threw a wrench into the system at every turn. There was even a strange disagreement between engaged and married people. Weird.
Let's dive.

But it looks like times have changed -- in New York City at least. The metropolitan city is reforming the way they look at sex education and will begin implementing a more controversial curriculum starting this year.
What does that mean, exactly? Well, for starters, public middle schools and high schools in the city will be given lessons on how to successfully use a condom and a talk on the appropriate age for sexual activity.

To you, if I don't like the way I see you talking to your kids I have the right to step in and tell your kids what it is I think no matter who I am and what I'm about.
It's not the schools job to tell kids their OPINIONS.
(and please spare me the crap you think to know about my country)
I think you watch too much football (the helmet) and my experience is that football fans are at average not the smartest people..
And these people always think they know better ..
And about this helmet I also looked at your profile and I see sports sports sports and sports..
Maybe this is how you graduated college ?
Because I highly doubt that you would made it without that ...
And there is no debate to win, you are calling every one who disagrees an idiot and talk about kicking the teacher's ass , that is no debate..
You are not exactly a winner in the brain department ..
And me a looooooooser ? it has no meaning to me so call me what you want .
But be careful with that because it might show you to be even dumber than you alread made yourself already appear
DIRK

If I, as a parent, make efforts to educate my child in sexuality and do not want interference from an alternate source then, nobody has the right to interfere. If you are going to teach something uniformly across the board then focus on educating the children about social pressures and critical decision making... kid's are smarter that the educational institutes make them out to be; they should try spending their time working on a curriculum where children actually learn to think for themselves rather than simply spoon feeding them regurgitated rules from board regulated agendas. It is a parent's responsibility to speak with their children about the facts of life - If you can't manage to do that in an effective way, then you shouldn't be a parent.
Sex makes babies and diseases. Most people have sex. Everyone one the planet is here cos of sex.
Quit equating guns and sex. Nearly all Kids are gonna try sex before guns.
You may think that its ok to turn the responsibility over to a school board to teach your children the basic elements of a parent/child relationship but, not every parent will agree with you.
Yes, some children are just prone to sexuality and may need direction earlier in life but forcing it on every child is completely asinine. If there is a fault in sexual education within the family then, maybe its the parents that are too ignorant to give their child a proper learning environment that need to be sitting in a classroom learning how to be a parent.
Teach your children (or choose not to) however you feel is right by you... if I have my 11 year old daughter come home from school and tell me that she was rolling condoms on cucumbers while I already had my own regimen in place... I would fear to be the principal of that school.
Ok and when he makes a 12/13 year old girl pregnant, blame it in the girl ??
