Halloween is finally here, and the air is heavy with gloom and witchery. But it's also a popular month to get married, which means Halloweddings are afoot and black wedding dresses are getting as much attention as they will all year.

Last week we brought up Vera Wang's new line of black wedding dresses and asked SodaHeads what they thought -- cool or creepy? After 1200 votes, it was clear that black wedding dresses are in. But what do real brides-to-be think about the trend? Does this signal the end of the traditional wedding?

For this week's infographic, we put together some of the more interesting demographic information, as well as some poignant external data to shed light on the state of American weddings. i like the idea of having black wedding dresses because 1) i love the color black and 2) i'm a sucker for crystals on a wedding dress. the crystals show up better on darker colored dresses .

While I wore white at my first and a dark ivory at my second, I think a black wedding dress would be gorgeous! Not that I would wear one because I don't ever plan on getting married again! But if I was, why not? They're so pretty!

People are free to do as they please, but I am not dying so I will not be in a black dress and neither will anyone at my wedding. I love a dress with a colorful sash but a completely black dress? At my funeral, not my wedding.

a person should wear what they like for their wedding. who cares what color it is? It's not about the clothing, it's about the commitment. Everyone forgets it's not just a big party.

Why is there never an option for "who gives a damn?" Wear a black dress. Don't wear a black dress. I really don't care. It doesn't effect me one way or the other.

I don't know ...... I would love to get married no matter what I wear or what color. Some people love to destroy my happiness sooooo, I would say that it is for witches in some women they still would wear white to disguise themselves.....Like they really are white and pure. So, you should stick with would God would want you to wear and your parents. White or Ivory.

But it's your [and your mate's] day. You should wear what makes you feel good unless you really do want your parents to choose your dress [which there is nothing wrong with that unless you feel forced].

I feel that the dresses and styles that I and my daughter wears, should be very conservative because in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, they use modest wedding dresses. That means no low cleavage, no strapless, no sleeveless, no shorts, no mini skirts and dresses. I want my children wearing only modest clothig and modest wedding dresses. I could wear a skirt suit as long as it is in white and not short and the top has to be with long sleeves.

If those are the things that make you feel good and follow your belief, I'm not saying it's wrong. But I think on a day like that you should feel happy in what you wear. No matter what it is. :)

Personally, I didn't see a woman wear it before in her wedding, but personally I see, It's okay to wear suchlike dresses. It 's so fashionable and so simple.

I haven't either. I know Sharon Stone got married in a pink wedding dress and a pink veil. That shocked me. I think that is why she did it! Really it was shocking at first, then you went, Ah, She looks sweet.

In some parts of the world white is used for furnerals so our tradictional wedding dresses are creepy to them.

My sister was having a yard sale a number of years ago and was selling these perfume bottles...

a Mexican neighbor lady to came over saw them, shot my sister a weird look and rushed back across the street, it was then I looked it up, lol.
