Public Opinion Doesn't Look Down on Smokers [INFOGRAPHIC]

I've been tempted to, but I tend to feel sorry for the wretches. So, I can't seem to be able to harm them, even though they are harming themselves and everyone around them.

That seems to be the Human reponse. Not intellectually productive but very effective.

We do in life what we do and then pay the price-sometimes good and sometimes bad. You have a good life.

Smokers just don't realize how bad they stink, so they will never know that until one day they quit smoking, then their sense of smell will become keener and they'll know then just how bad smokers smell.

Looking down on smokers is plain stupid. Where does all the discrimination end? I find farting to be offensive, but I don't expect to have a no farting section. This society is hell bend against freedom.

Smokers have NO respect for anything or anyone ! They want you to be stupid like they are so they will have someone to go to Chemo with. Stand back and watch the replies that come in saying smoking does not affect your health. If people did not smoke ALL of the health insurance rates would go down.
Have you ever been in an office first thing in the morning when everyone is clean. Then........in comes the smoker. You can smell them across the room because their clothes stink from smoke. Then they come up to talk to you and their breath makes you want to puke. Why should I have to start my day like this. Smokers are either very weak people who can't overcome an addiction they should have never started or don't have enough intelligence to know it's killing them (and me). Only two choices....take your pick.

The "no respect" comes from a smoker. The "smugness" you say is resentment that I have to put up with this everyday. If you want to die early go ahead.....just don't take me with you.

I have lost 3 in my family from smoking so I'm not going by what propaganda says. Just medical facts. Have you ever seen autopsy pictures of a lung from someone who smokes ?
If so you will never forget it. I don't care to have that in my body. So...if smoking makes you happy...do it. It might help the shortfall in Social Security that younger people could be facing if enough smokers keep on puffing. Sounds good to me.

You don't know that as a fact. People get lung cancer who never smoked. Don't let your emotions fall prey to the propaganda. Enjoy your life it's enjoying not necessarily longevity.

I guess we will have to keep in touch to see who lives longer. If you go first we can just blame it on the economy or George Bush. HaHa ! I'm sure you will come up with something besides smoking.

I don't look down on people who smoke but will ask them to go outside if they are in my house.
The smell gets in your home and it takes forever to get it out. Else it's up to the smoker. I watched my mother die from smoking and I wouldn't wish that on anyone

The pollution for cars, trucks and buses is worse than smoking 4 packs a day. This PC based on prejudices is a bunch of crap.

I was surprised that the smoking rate is still so high for kids in high school, would like to see rates for 2010.

Yes, I do look down on smokers. They smell bad and expose others to deadly chemicals. I maybe fat but I am not poisoning others.

I don't really care if people smoke cigarettes as long as its not around me while I'm sleeping or eating. I smoke the herb and there are enough people that look down on that.
