nahhh. women just like dangerous, exciting, bad boys. only the dumb ones date jerks. there is a difference between a bad boy and a jerk. but a bad boy is more of fantasy.

considering the grave error i made picking a husband....i decided i no longer will be allowed to make any dating decisions for myself....im permanently banned from choosing....because if i could screw up SO COSMICALLY like i did there,....i have no business in the drivers seat anymore....the end!

The women who are attracted to jerks either lack self respect, or aren't intelligent enough to see that he's a jerk. Take your pick!

Maybe the guy got girls before he was a jerk then his ego got to big and he turned into a jerk and the women are just still attracted to him.

Because Jerks are social , speak up ,and are to the point and don't play around. It's either that or some chump , limp, weak or all around not into girls.

I'm a girl of course. I'm absolutely turned off by mean guys. But I really don't like nice guys either. I think there's got to be a balance.

Maybe women "always" choose jerks simply because there are so many more of them.

Humans are not inherently monogamous by nature. What do you think all those rings and diamonds and sacred vows and preachers with authority vested in them and licenses and witnesses are all for? Do snakes need them? Do eagles? No. They mate with one partner for life because it's their nature. We get sloppy seconds thirds and whatever. And that's the nice guys finishing last that even do that. I say good luck with it all.

A lot has to do with communication, opinion and personality match versus conflict. If she is in a bad mood and you ask for clarification you're a jerk, or try to share information you believe important you're opinionated. But if she is feeling good then you're a "nice guy". Bottom line is women are viscerally attracted to manly men, as those depicted by actors on screen braving incredible dangers or being heroic, rebellious or both. In reality most of us are less than all that but if they imagine we can cut it then it's game on and may the best man win. Nature hasn't changed the rules the past billion years or so and isn't likely to anytime soon.

When we first started dating, i was a jerk to my now wife. I changed, but i think initially that made her obsessed with me.I found this to be true with other girls too, the more i pulled away the more they wanted me, where as the more in to them i was the more distant they became.

That works both ways. Sort of like the famous finger-puzzle.

Women dating jerks is the same as women going out clubbing with their comparatively ugly girlfriend to make themselves look prettier. ( Be honest ladies. I see right through you ) No doubt a man who is an arsehole will make a woman look a lot more intelligent. Perhaps this is the reason for dating a jerk.

I dated a a jerk or two when i was younger. I am lucky to be with a great guy who is well liked by his family, my family, my friends and even his employees. I can't imagine anyone using the word "nice" to describe him. People say things like "awesome", "great", "hardworking", "funny", "kind", "loyal" and "wonderful". When I hear someone described as "nice" I think of an average to slightly less than average looking guy who is responsible but not exactly a go-getter in the career dept. He is more than likely a little odd or into something like action figures, wwe or Comic Con, which is just not my cup of tea. He is rather boring and while he never says anything offensive, he doesn't say anything memorable or deep. Ever. He whines alot about how "nice he is" and how "everyone screws him over". "Nice" just translates to kind of spineless, dull, insecure and forgettable with a dash of self pity tossed in. I want something better than nice. I don't want vanilla, I want Cherry Garcia or Rum Raisin and they can be loving and kind, loyal and honest.

I agree with robbt1 below...that is so true. I think some women consider douchebags more exciting for some reason....like it's a game. Well it's their loss really...leave the good guys for the rest of us. I got mine so thanks, women lol

i think a lot of woman are attracted to jerks for many reasons. most jerks wouldn't think twice about punchin a guy out for his girl where as "the nice guy" usually tries to avoid confrontation. jerks tend to have more fun because they couldn't give a crap about what other people think of them where as most nice guys are worried about causing a scene or what not. woman are sensitive beings, they tend to have the ability to see the good in a bad situation, no matter how bad it is and have an enormous amount of sympathy making them able to see through the jerk because everyone's got a soft spot that only a few people can reach......
