Who said you have to be a skinny minnie to wear a teeny bikini? Plus-size fashion blogger Gabi Gregg has posted a photo of herself in a "fatkini" and asked other readers of xojane.com to do the same. Some of the ladies look great, but critics say Gregg is "promoting an unhealthy weight."

Gregg, however, thinks she's been misunderstood. "I’m all for health," the 25-year-old, who wears a size 18, told the "Today" show. "I think people should be really aware of what they’re putting in their bodies and try to get more active. The truth is, we have to live in our bodies and be happy with the bodies we have right now, regardless of where we are in our journey to health.

"So often in the media all we see are thin women in bikinis," she added. "I love my body. I think we should kind of reject these fashion rules about what we are and about what we are not allowed to wear."

She also said women pay too much attention to their weight when it comes to their health. "My measure for health is how good I feel," Gregg said. "The main thing is to judge how you feel and what you’re putting into your body, how active you are and not based on a number on a scale." Do you think women should rock their "fatkinis" with pride?

I walk daily, eat healthy, no carbs, etc.... and this is pretty much my body type. This woman rocks and looks awesome. ;) Go Gabi!

Why?
Smoking is unhealthy. Being fat is unhealthy. Some smokers are healthy. Smoke fat people are healthy... they're fair comparisons.

She has a point, people always bring up extremes. I'm a size 10..I want to lose more weight, but at least feel more physically comfortable then I did when I was a size 15. I felt bloated and uncomfortable..how on earth can you feel physically comfortable. Lose the weight, I guarantee you will feel better and have more energy.

But my point is, some people feel fine at a larger size. Just because you were uncomfortable at size 15 doesn't mean that everyone else is. Some people are uncomfortable at size 3. It's just that everyone is different.

Again you are using extremes. Size 3, unless you are a dwarf, child, or midget, is too tiny. Why don't you state size 6.8, or 10 instead? That is how I know you are overweight..its the overweight people who claim all other people are anorexic-ally underweight.

How is that an extreme? Don't sit there and say that all size 3 people are too skinny, you're probably mad because you can't get that small. Yes, I went there. & Actually I'm a size 4 myself, and yeah I'm very short, but how was I claiming that all other people are anorexically underweight? In fact, isn't that what you did when you said size 3's are too tiny? My goodness.

I did say unless someone is a little person..which means extremely short. I don't want to get that tiny. If I did I lose my feminine shape. I want to keep an hour glass figure. If I lose that much weight, I will lose my breasts. Its happened before. I became so anorexic/bulimic when I was 16 and 17 that my breasts went from a D cup to a B cup. Who wants to lose their womanhood like that? Except models, ballerinas, anorexics and those getting a sex change.

I want to be a size 6.

Well that's not really true, I know of many tall people that are size 3 and even smaller that look perfecrly fine. And maybe you like your large breasts, not everyone does. In fact I know A LOT of females that despise their large breasts and long for B or C cups. Why are you insisting that everyone must have womanly curves and be size 6, 8, or 10? I hope you realize that people come in different shapes and sizes because that's the way it's meant to be. I like being tiny, and no I don't have D cups or huge hips but who cares? Some people like being larger, like at a size 16. We don't all have to be one size, we're all different. It is what it is.

Why should it be unhealthy, if a person is comfortable in their own skin, why should it be someone elses decision whether or not it is healthy or not?

No, meth is guaranteed to get you on the wrong path. However, one can be overweight yet healthy at the same time, you just have to know your limits.

Really,
My daughter does not wear a single digit "bikini". However my daughters body fat percentage is under twenty. Her body mass index is well in check for all the sports she (soccer, softball, weightlifting) participates in each season. That and she is stronger than her boyfriend ( scrawny boys nowadays is a whole other issue).

@strawberry, you are promoting judgmentalism and glorifying idiocy. You presume to know what she does or does not do to be healthy. Maybe you aren't a bit chunky and struggle with your weight, but if you ever do I hope that those around you will be more supportive than you are. Judge not, lest you be judged by the same measure you judge.

Most of us have a weight problem at some point in our lives. Glorifying being fat, or obese, letting your fat hang out all over the place, shows ignorance. Young people did not get that fat in my generation of youth. I'm promoting my own point of view, you promote your own, and take your own advice.

That's definitely not a fact. If you think that's true..come to America. Fat girls get bullied and belittled all the time, trust me. This post isn't supportive of obesity, this is supportive of being healthy & happy...you don't need to be thin to be healthy. And you're just looking for a reason to hate on big people. No, she is not fishing for compliments, she's setting an example for other big girls, letting them know they are beautiful no matter what the skinny actresses on tv tell them to look like. She obviously doesn't need anymore compliments, she's already confident. An example of fishing for compliments would be posting a picture of yourself then saying "Oh I'm sooo uglyy." or something like that.
