The people who determine the health of the private sector are the guys on Wall Street.

They read all the financial results from all the companies. When it's not good the indeces go down. They're double what they were at the end of 2008/beg 2009. Their numbers aren't based on guesswork. So yes, the private sector is doing fine compared to everything else. Record profits in many large companies.
